IZAKAYA HEARTBEAT - Hypnorock!

"Super cool underground guitar rock/pop from Norway. Many of these tracks remind us of some of the best underground guitar bands from the United States and Great Britain in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After spinning this album several times we can't help but wonder what other cool obscure artists might be lurking around in Norway...? Ten kickass tracks here including "Narcoleptic Highway," "Gl...ass and Flowers," and "Into The Sun." TOP PICK."  ~ Baby Sue

I blame Izakaya Heartbeat and Altaar for being so good, that everything else this evening just seemed like second best." - By Larm - No Music Media

DAVE GODDESS GROUP - Rockin' Your Soul and Breakin' Your Heart!

Daring, personal, rare. Call it "the real thing." Dave Goddess Group drives the lonely and twisted road to rock n' roll salvation, shifting gears between truth-telling ballads and gasket-blowing screamers with regard for neither fad nor fashion, trend nor taste.

Can a band that's "got the to bees or the not to bees" really bring "something new" to a world of mediocrity?  If "enough is not enough" can we ever be satisfied?  Just maybe.

It's rock as religion, painfully out of step, but somehow walking the bleeding edge. It wants to matter. It wants to make you think. It wants to rock your soul and break your heart.

Dave Goddess Group's private dream is now in the public domain. Who could sleep through this racket? (as compiled on the bands website).

Dave Goddess Group is:
Dave Goddess: lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, keyboards, percussion
Mark Buschi:  bass guitar, background vocals
Tom Brobst: keyboards, saxophone, flute
Tom Bazylak: drums

FEATURING SONGS BY
- - - - -

THIS WEEK ON THE SOGGY BOG PROJECT PLUTO host Bob has decided on a 30 minute song entitled  "Resurgent Atavism" by CaputLVIIIM which are members of the doom project Malasangre.

The track is based on the Knights Templar lore and understanding of our universe...

"A numerical study ( gematria ) of CAPUT LVIIIM, the name of the
Templar's divine object of worship, reveals information about a
different position of the Earth in the universe and more, which the
Templars had to keep secret from the Church else suffer the dire
consequences."

Adding to our diverse musical vibe...  The SOGGY BOG PROJECT PLUTO is a half an hour show hosted by Bob of The Soggy Bog of Doom Show for us here at Pluto Radio.  What an amazing addition to our commercial free radio stream!

LAST TRAIN HOME - Last Good Kiss

"One of the country's most formidable roots-rock bands."
That's the assessment of Nashville's Tennessean newspaper about Last Train Home (as stated on the bands website). And while roots-rock is at the heart of LTH's sound, don't overlook the country, bluegrass, swing, blues, folk, pop, and Tin Pan Alley influences you'll find if you lend this band an ear. What began as a part-time band in Washington D.C. back in 1997 has evolved into an acclaimed full-time touring group based out of Nashville.

LTH frontman Eric Brace is a former staff writer for The Washington Post where he was a columnist covering the local music and nightlife scene. Prior to Last Train Home, Eric played in several Washington area bands, including B-Time, the Beggars, and Kevin Johnson & the Linemen. He also ran a local rock label, Top Records, for many years, before focusing on his own music.

In 2005, the band released the CD "Bound Away," and followed that in 2007 with "Last Good Kiss," both widely-praised CDs that showed the band's extraordinary growth. That artistic evolution was rewarded with appearances on the CBS "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and on the syndicated radio show "Mountain Stage."

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, LTH recorded and released a live concert DVD and CD, "Last Train Home Live at IOTA," a vivid document that captures the dynamic live performance that has become the hallmark of this band. (as compiled on the bands website)

Wednesday night at the Viper Room - Hollywood.

STALKER KIMMY caught up with retired conspiracy theorist and Pluto Radio music host LEE CRISMAN at the Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA...  Word is they shared a Chateaubriand at the world famous Dresden, then, they consumed a gallon of cheap Sangria while standing on Ms. Vivien Leigh's Hollywood Walk of Fame star.., Reportedly, later that night, Lee Crisman was caught by TMZ camera's urinating on the Micky Mouse star, all this, while Kimmy entertained Harvey Levin in a rather dark alley around the corner.  After snacks at Girls Girls Girls on the strip, the two Pluto Radio air personalities allegedly smoked a bit of hash and made their way down to the Viper Room where they enjoyed a rousing set by ZAK DANIELS and THE ONE EYED SNAKES.  "Zak and his band were amazing live..," quotes Lee.  "They were tight as hell and they filled the space with their rock and roll hugeness."  CRISMAN went on to say, "My left earbone is still ringing - in the best possible way."  We can expect to have a SHOUTS FROM THE CAVE episode featuring ZAK DANIELS in the not-too-distant future @ PlutoRadio.com.  Reportedly, while Kimmy helped the band load gear after the show, Crisman sneaked off to the Belushi Room at the Chateau Marmont with his tall, stiletto heel wearing assistant ...  As a final note to this Crisman reported sighting, the next morning Harvey Levin was found in an alley by a city worker.  According to our anonymous source, Mr. Levin was discovered with his hands zip-tied behind his back, shoeless, and pants pulled down around his ankles.  Our source indicated that Levin was wearing mis-matched argyle socks with his initials embroidered in the area around his toes..  Levin's empty wallet was found in a nearby dumpster.  No police report was filed on the incident.  Mr. Levin was unavailable for comment.

"Thanks for the invite Zak Daniels...  I had a great time in Hollywood.  You guys are amazing live!"  -  Lee Crisman

The music of ZAK DANIELS AND THE ONE EYED SNAKES is heard in rotation on the commercial free radio stream @ http://www.plutoradio.blogspot.com  Along with hosting personalities Stalker Kimmy and Lee Crisman, many other personalities are readily available on the station.  Pluto Radio - playing the music that deserves to be heard!

THE NOTHINGDOERS - Twenty Past Sixteen

The Nothingdoers play contemporary folk-rock oriented music with English lyrics. Because of the appalling situation with independent music recordings in Russia, The Nothingdoers cling to the principles of DIY in their recordings and in the process of album promotion, so they still remain unsigned and plan to continue releasing their future recordings under the Creative Commons license. Starting their collaboration as a two-guitar act, the guys recorded their first two albums, “The Unplugged Room Of Killed Time” (2004) and “Tonight” (2005) using cheap mics and home PCs.

After 2005, Igor and George played together in some indie-rock and punk bands, improving their skills as stage performers and then got back to their home studios to record their third full-length album, “Twenty Past Sixteen” (2008), which is now available for free download on the Web.

The Nothingdoers’ musical influences include such artists as Beck, Micah P. Hinson, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Sonic Youth, Kings Of Convenience etc. (as compiled on the bands website).

Igor Evanowe - vocals, guitars, keys, programming
George Manaev - bass, guitars, lyrics, vocals
Inat Olenev - drums & percussion

ZAK DANIELS AND THE ONE EYED SNAKES - Tender Seduction!

What's in a name? The burgeoning Los Angeles club scene has witnessed the birth of dozens of quality rock bands from the Doors to Guns 'N' Roses, but none quite so humorously defiant as ZAK DANIELS & THE ONE EYED SNAKES.
Long known on the local club circuit as a no nonsense hard rock band, the group has matured considerably since they were hailed as "the next big thing" by local radio and press in the mid nineties. Zak has maintained a philosophical outlook about such hyperbole. "It's been said many times by many people, but there is some truth in the phrase: "Nothing is an overnight sensation," he noted appropriately. After a couple of line-up changes the Snakes have become a permanent musical family. JIMMY (KAT) KATSIKIDES, who co-produced the album with Daniels, brandishes one of the meanest lead guitars in all of rock. The rhythm section consists of DOUG LAVERY on drums and ORION LINDEMANN on bass. Together they anchor a sound that can overwhelm the casual listener or tenderly seduce them.

SUGAR FROM SOUL - Sweet!

Founded in 2006, Sugar from Soul spent the first two years of their existence writing and recording songs for their first album, which was released in 2008.  Since then, the four musicians have been rocking the stages in and around Frankfurt/Germany with an ever-growing set of songs.

Rewarded for their live activity in 2009 they were crowned "newcomer band 2009" by Beyerdynamic and regioactive.de, Germany's No.1 address for bands and musicians.  In 2010 they expanded to the European abroad playing shows in Italy (winning the international Upload Contest in Bolzano), UK (including two London shows) and Norway.

Their music balances sharply between blues-rock and pop, rough guitar-riffs and dance, megalomania and sheepishness. (as compiled from the bands website).

THE WOODSMEN - Ink-Black and Spidery Rhythms!

Bring your prettiest dresses and your shiniest shoes to the wake, and we’ll bring the whiskey and the fire, and we’ll dance and we’ll throw it all on the burning funeral pyre…
Drowned sailors reels, skeletal country ballads, jangling gypsy blues and shotgun madrigals, The Woodsmen invoke a soundtrack to Ophelia’s drowning, the sinking of the Lusitania, the battle of the Atlantic, the fall of the Roman Empire, the siege of Masada, the assassination of Jesse James, the burning of Joan of Arc, the Paris commune, the tragic deaths of Hank Sr and John the Revelator , a Venetian Carnivale, the funeral of the romantic era, the birth of the decadent, the bacchanal, the saturnalia, and raise the spectres of undead cowboys, drowned lovers, Django and Strummer, Cash and Cave, Blake and Baudelaire…

CANCER KILLING GEMINI - Roadkill Music!

Cancer Killing Gemini's free song for June: Taxidermy Song  ( Taxidermy Song )

So we're out with Andrew for dinner one night and he starts to describe how he found a dead coyote on the side of the road. He takes it home and then, over the next few months, buries it in the ground, digs it up, skins it, guts it and boils the bones in a pot on the kitchen stove. Had it been anyone other than Andrew, I might have lost my appetite, but his suave, clever style somehow made this acceptable dinner conversation. The images of this process stayed in my head. Later that week, "Taxidermy Song" started to take shape.

We left the electronics behind for this one. Back to straight-ahead rock. Guitar, bass, drums, vocals and of course, Max's dirty clav.

I hope you enjoy Cancer Killing Gemini's free song for June: Taxidermy Song
