So why The Song Butcher ?
My friend one day came to me with a cartoon from guitar player magazine that showed a bum on the streets playing a guitar. The guy walking by was supposedly a Guitar institute student whose caption read " Who's that butchering those chords ?', Finalizing the piece was the statement. Know your teachers.
As a songwriter I've had some success but I can't play a clean chord, nobody wants to be in a band with me and I can't sing, but write I do. Thus, I'm The Song Butcher. So there ya go.

Billy Connally ..

For three decades, his axe has been in hand, sharpening a fine edge to his musical skills. Billy Connally has created his own blend of hard guitar rock, neo-grunge, and post modern rock. He describes his music as “Heavy Grooving Atmospheric Guitar Rock” and has been recognized as a cross between Joe Satriani and Alice in Chains. For the casual listener and musical connoisseur alike, listening to Billy's debut CD release, “The Silent Canvas,” is anything but silent. Indeed, it is an audio tapestry for the listener who can appreciate a sophisticated venture into hard rock impressionism. (as compiled on Billy Connally's website)

Poppa's Kitchen...

Poppa’s Kitchen is Steve Feldman & Bob Romanus.
Bob was born and raised in Hartford Connecticut.  He grew up in a home filled with music.  “We listened to everything, show tunes, pop songs, opera, Country & Western.”  The first song that rocked Bob’s world was Double Shot Of My Baby’s Love by the Swingin Medallions.
At the age of nine he inherited his first drum kit and immediately began to bang on them in his basement.  After that he would grab any instrument he could get his hands on.  He formed a band with his brother and some neighborhood kids. They headlined a gig at The Hartford Institute For The Living.
Destined for bigger things, he bought a bus ticket to the land of bigger dreams, Los Angeles California.
Steve is originally from Chicago.  The first song  he heard that captured his imagination was Walk Right In by the Rooftop Singers.

Owen Temple on Pluto Radio ..

OWEN TEMPLE
DOLLARS AND DIMES
North America is many different places. Of course, there are different states and different provinces, but that’s not really where the big differences happen. The really fundamental distinctions happen between the different regions.
Photo of Owen Temple
One great thing about my job is I get to travel. Mostly on the highways, and frequently from one end of the country to the other. When I get to see how the different regions fit together, how they unroll from end to end, that’s the most interesting travel. Occasionally, if the booking agent is sadistic enough (or optimistic enough?), I get to see three or four different regions in three or four days.
I’ve been traveling, playing gigs, and making records for twelve years. The place where this started for me was Austin, playing at a dark wooden barroom downtown called O Henry’s Back Forty (now the site of the downtown Hilton). I’ve worked different jobs, lived in Houston, Dallas, New York, and Madison, Wisconsin, and made good friends in all those places.
A fellow traveler and songwriter, Brian Rung,  (per Mr. Temple's website.. http://www.myspace.com/owentemple)

Rob Tognoni on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream .

Originally from Turner's Beach (Ulverstone) in Tasmania, and now lives in Queensland, Australia. RT plays guitar, writes, sings, records & does a lot of touring through Europe & UK.
Rob's latest 26 track double live CD titled "Rock And Roll Live" was released through Music Avenue in Oct. 2010.  Recorded at the Spirit of '66, Verviers, Belgium in March this year, it captures the fast and furious energy to the subtlety that Rob's gigs are well known for.

"You have to admire Rob Tognoni's stamina. He is able to sustain a ferocious pace, few could manage it... Perhaps his stamina is the consequence of 30 years conditioning.   Perhaps it's natural selection..." Blues In Britian Magazine UK

"Australian Rob Tognoni is one of the finest guitar players around today. His work is a combination of classic rock, blues & blues rock and is done with utmost passion and precision..." Bandit Blues Radio USA

"A stunning guitarist with killer licks, and a fine blues rock feel..." Jazz FM, London UK  (all as compiled from Rob Tognoni’s website)

Sean Kershaw ..

Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers, purveyors of hi-octane honky tonk and long recognized as the hardest working band in Brooklyn, have released their long-awaited debut CD “Coney Island Cowboy” and are ready to take on the world.

In the '90s Kershaw fronted  a raveup rockabilly band called the Blind Pharaohs in Brooklyn, NY and in late 2001, started, on a whim and as a side project, Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers honing their craft playing primarily covers at a weekly residency at Hank’s Saloon (Brooklyn, NY) and at underground loft parties. They continued to perform in and around Brooklyn for the first few years of the bands existence. As recognition of their dedication, musicianship and entertaining live performances spread, the band branched out to other venues in New York City and beyond, with the occasional foray down South or up to New England.

By early 2007 the New Jack Ramblers were Mr. Kershaw’s main band and he had begun writing more original material specifically for the Ramblers. It was during this period also that the press began to take notice, with favorable reviews in TimeOut NY, the NY Times, NY Post, and, yes, Playgirl Magazine. Playgirl chose the original Sean Kershaw composition “Moonlight Eyes” as its Pick of the Month - July 2005 even though it had not been officially released.  More recently the Village Voice featured Mr. Kershaw on the cover of an issue devoted to Brooklyn Country music and it’s resurgence in popularity (as compiled from the bands website).

"Sean Kershaw slinks his strings and vocal chords in such a way that "ladies" in New York clubs go crazy!" - Metromix NY

"Love the great honky tonk swing of this cd. It really swings. Yet the title track Coney Island Cowboy is kinda modern even punk outlaw sounding, great stuff. Love the Trucker and the Tranny and Woke up Dead.” -BRCFP (UK internet radio)

"Rockabilly at it's finest - complete with all the twang and storytelling, Sean Kershaw packs in all the flavor and spice one would expect from a cd titled 'Coney Island Cowboy'!" - Stalker Kimmy, Pluto Radio

Asteroid...

The history of Asteroid is a psychedelic space saga, timeless and endless, with no upside or downside, but with a beautiful ending. The band, formed during the winter of 2003, has undertaken a long musical journey and developed a sound well fit to the trio constellation. After being formed as a regular stoner band, it didn’t take long before new grounds were conquered. Since then, influences have been collected from blues and British 70’s classic rock, but also from Swedish traditional folk music.

Asteroid is now back with their second album, called simply “II”. It is a more evolved but also relaxed and groovy follow up to their highly acclaimed debut album S/T. This time they locked themselves up in a studio deep in the forest, trying to capture the raw and naked sound and feeling in their music. You will hear a tighter, heavier, but also darker Asteroid. You will still recognize the characteristic energy in the sound and feel the joy delivered by the musicians.

This record is like transporting yourself back to the psychedelic woods of Sweden, but unlike other 70’s influences bands this is also fresh and unique on its own. Asteroid is today a well-known live act all over Europe with constant touring and a reputation of wild and sweaty live shows (as stated in the bands website) . Hold on to your hats!  ASTEROID IS BACK!
