WHITE RABBIT DYNAMITE - From the Light of a Summer's Day.....

White Rabbit Dynamite is a rock experiment, founded in 2008 in Berlin.

The sound is classic but original, and it´s inspired by the rock music of the late 60´s and early 70´s. With their heavy riffing“ guitars and dynamic jazz rock drums they remind of bands like Black Sabbath, Colour Haze and Siena Root. But with their lead vocals they are leaving the hard rock genre to find the white rabbit roaming on its own way.  Watch out for "White Rabbit Dynamite"!

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone, and of course a very happy upcoming holiday season!  We wanted to let you all know that ZELAZOWA will be playing our final show of 2011 on Saturday, December 10th at Arlene's Grocery in NYC.

It's been quite the busy year so we are excited to wrap it up at one of our favorite venues. The show is 21+ and tickets are $10 at the door - oh, and we will hit the stage around 9:30. Those of you that can make it will most certainly hear a few new tunes as well as some oldies from the vault.

RED FANG - Prehistoric Metal!

Red Fang is the latet effort from long time bros and collaborators Bryan Giles (Last of the Juanitas, Party Time), Aaron Beam (Dark Forces, Lachrymator), David Sullivan (Party Time, facedowninshit, Shiny Beast) and John Sherman (Party Time, Bad wizard, Trumans Water, All Night).  The four have boiled down their disparate sounds to create the ONLY sound:  RED FANG!  (as compiled on the bands website)

Thanks to SOGGY BOG for turning us onto Red Fang!

BROWN BIRD - High-Spirited, Foot-Stomping !

Brown Bird is better listened to in a room made of wood. Of course, it is easy to download the code and listen to the band on small computer speakers, but what is the point? You miss the warm layers of guitar, banjo, violin, double bass, cello, and bass drum (wooden rim) which hangs thick over their latest full-length effort, "Salt for Salt".
Recorded live to tape in Pawtucket, RI, "Salt For Salt..." is the first album by Brown Bird to capture the intense energy of the duo's live show, surging in waves that often swell into high-spirited, foot-stomping madness. David Lamb's lyrics are as well-written as they are emotionally intelligent, thankfully avoiding the pitfalls of the wish-wash known as "modern-folk" or "singer-songwriting". Lamb and his partner MorganEve Swain write simply, and the record is eerily sparse at times - a tambourine, a bass drum and the cello often the sole accompaniement to Lamb's (what a name) cracked, wood-smoke voice. SOLSTICE COIL - Alternative Progressive Rock!

Solstice Coil formed in Israel in 2001. The band's core members are Shir Deutch, Opher Vishnia and Shai Yallin. The band describes its musical style on its official website as "combining the emotional with the intellectual", and proclaims itself as "Israel's first alt-prog-rock band to be formed on the web".

Solstice Coil has released two albums, A Prescription for Paper Cuts (2005) and Natural Causes (2011). While both albums were self-produced and self-financed, Natural Causes had been picked up by the Orlando-based progressive rock label Melodic Revolution Records.   On July 5, 2011, Solstice Coil released a parody of Dream Theatre to Youtube titled "The Natural Causes Carries On", spoofing Dream Theater's "The Spirit Carries On" documentary about their search to replace founding member and drummer Mike Portnoy.  (as compiled on the bands website)

RUDER THAN YOU - Brothers of Love!

RUDER THAN YOU was founded in 1989 by five students at Penn State University who relocated to Philadelphia in 1991. Long known as Philly's top ska band, Ruder Than You's identity has never fit too neatly into any of the generic skacategorizations. While ska and reggae stylings have always provided the common musical thread, over the past 30+ years they've been mixing in dancehall reggae, hip-hop, rocksteady, and rub-a-dub, even adding elements of funk, jazz, and punk - to create their own unique sound. The consistent factor however is the bands energy & and enthusiasm, which inevitably pulls people out onto the dance floor.

The bands current roster of veteran members includes the Round Mound of Dub Sound - singer Freddie Weaver. Band leader Doug Dubrosky still sings and plays tenor sax. He and Don Pancoe on bass hail from the earliest days of RTY. Rod Martino and Chris Klimchak fill out the lineup on guitar and trombone, respectively. Larry "Ace" Snell of the Toasters and Public Service sits on the drum throne.

So, whether it be on the CD player, web, or HOPEFULLY live in concert, you are oh so encouraged to let your mind and body succumb to the rude sounds of those brothers of love, Ruder Than You.  (as compiled on the bands website)

SECRET SKWIRL - The Best Psychedelic Rock You Never Heard!

In late 2009, a recording engineer (Sheldon Gomberg) and a friend of his drove by a garage sale, in Tarzana, CA; and noticed a stack of 2 inch tape boxes. After a brief discussion with the homeowner, he found out that the tapes had apparently been left in a closet, under the stairs of her home, and were there when she moved in. She found the tapes when the wood floors of the house were being refinished. She was the fourth owner of the home, which was built (according to her) in 1972. There were 23 boxes of tape; which Sheldon bought for the forty-seven bucks that he had in his wallet, at the time.

Sheldon took the tapes back to his recording studio The Carriage House in Silverlake, and cracked them open. The only information in the boxes were song lists with the name “Sloan Kramer” written by hand, beside each title. A quick count of the titles totaled slightly over one hundred songs!  Sheldon had the tapes baked (to avoid delamination) and digitized, for playback in Pro Tools.  Being a fan of “this type of music”, Sheldon was immediately enamored by what he heard. “The songs were very well written, and recorded. They smacked of that late ‘60’s/early ‘70’s Brit Pop, Psychedelic vibe. I fell in love with these songs, at the first listen. There was just one problem: I had no idea who these guys were; only the cryptic “Sloan Kramer” reference beside each song title”. Sheldon took it upon himself to try and find the original band; but had little to go on.   Stay tuned.........(as compiled on the bands website)

R.I.P.  Silver Sony Beauty...  Mr. Crisman bids goodbye to a Pluto Radio favorite and friend, his earphones for the past four years.  Yes, it may sound silly to many, yet, anyone who works in a perpetual state of repetition should understand that day in and day out these where the headphones that Mr. Crisman has used to perform most of the UNSUNG shows with...  Word is one of the earphones, literally, blew off while Mr. Crisman was listening to a Pluto Radio favorite, The Red Plastic Buddha.  Indeed, a sad day to have a left ear blowout of such nature.  Mr. Crisman indicates there is no way to replace the loss, regardless, the commercial free Pluto Radio stream will, indeed, find a way to continue providing an amazing, diverse, interplanetary stew for the earbuds of our devoted listeners.  Thank you all for listening.

(In consideration of his loss, Mr. Crisman indicates that any donation should be made to nuforc.)

CANCER KILLING GEMINI - Rock / Electronic Music from Boston, MA

Rock 4 Animals / Animals 4 Rock.

So if you haven't heard already, Cancer Killing Gemini's next show is an animal benefit called Black & White Animal Night. We're teaming up with I, Pistol and Sugar Snow to raise money for a non-profit animal rescue organization called Kitty Connection from Medford, MA. The show is at Radio (379 Somerville Ave) in Union Sq Somerville.

The financial bottom has pretty much fallen out of the music industry in recent years. Instead of fighting it, we're going with the flow, and even paddling a little bit. The cover at the door will go to the charity. The raffle will go the charity. Money from sponsors will go to the charity. We'll show up and play to a room of (hopefully) drunk, happy animal lovers.
