ONE SOUL THRUST = Passion...!

It’s said that one can’t be truly creative without passion. Surprising how many bands fall short here when adding up the equation. But in the fickle world of music there's something to be said about a group that doesn’t kow-tow to cookie-cutter trends or cigar-chomping suits looking for the next pop flavour of the month. So if fate chooses to smile the gleaming white grin of prosperity on Edmonton, Canada's One Soul Thrust then let the justice be done. Their style- modern yet classic rock influenced- certainly lends itself to success without compromise.

From pure rock to funk to soulful blues it’s all rock and it’s all executed with precision experience & creativity…

ABSENT ME - Skull Folding Rhythms

Formed in 2000 by Brian Rogers(singer), and Curtis Harvey(guitar), Absent Me is a 4 man Progressive rock band from Sacramento Ca. In 2002, the jazz sound was injected with the addition of Job(bass), only to complete the ultimate capabilities in 2004 when Don(drums) joined to write and record all new music for a full length L.P., entitled "Hate To Wake You", released September 2006.

Brian developed his haunting mix of melody and primal scream after 8 years of vocal training, 13 years of composing, and co-founding the 90's alt rock band Above.
Don's been in the Sacramento scene since the late 80's with bands like I.G.D., Diesel, OTIS, F.R.E.D., BFE. and MDSO, he is a hard hitting drummer with thundering chops and a commanding presence on any stage.

Curtis has been formally trained in Jazz and Classical guitar styles, has been playing guitar for 19 years, and composing for 12. He has a Degree in Composition from the University of Oregon and is a combination of academic precision and soulful creativity.

Job is a bass instructor with 15 years playing rock & metal bass, and a Lifetime of freeform, abstract, and fusion-based jazz through Dallas and Austin, TX in the 90's until finally settling with Absent Me in 2002. He plays the bass with a unique multi-timbred right hand style that matches perfectly with the skull folding rhythms from Don, the huge waves and subtle sonic nuances of Curtis, and the gripping effect of Brians story-telling vocal style (as compiled from the bands website).

PASS OF ERA - Prog Rock Trio!

Like all music you and I have ever enjoyed, Pass of Era seeks to move you from this world into the visceral realm of human emotion - a place where you can fully immerse yourself in a journey that builds it's own reality as time moves forward. That feeling of discovery and passion is why we are here - to write - to perform - to listen - to share. This is the world built by three young musicians from Edmonton, Alberta. This is the story of Pass of Era.

The group has released their debut EP titled "The Scripted Dream" whilst beginning work on their first full length concept album and preparing to hit the scene and bring their story to the stage.

MARQUIS OF VAUDEVILLE - A Mesmeric Twirling Dizziness in our Skulls

As a vivid reality, Marquis of Vaudeville’s music is whatever you, as the listener, hear within it and take from it. It’s whatever you want it to be. To some, they might seem like 60’s revivalists, or to others, a reincarnated meld of 70’s Brit-Glam, but whatever they are to you, or represent, or can relate to in your life, it’s that connection that drives them; to express, to communicate.
Hate them, love them, they demand the world take notice, and merely desire to incite something genuine, to inspire sincere emotion despite the world’s mind numbing mediocrity and generic mass production. Marquis of Vaudeville is a tantalizing flavor for even the most finicky musical appetite (compiled from the bands website).

VOICE OF ADDICTION - Good Ole’ Punk Rock from Chicago

www.voiceofaddiction.com
Voice Of Addiction takes on the attitude the the punk rock revolution instilled in us, but infuses it with genre-mashing breakdowns. Sometimes described as a "unique refreshing slant to the rock world." Voice Of Addiction's members put their distinct personalities and experiences into the instruments they play and the music they write. V.O.A.'s music has an immense presence that builds tension and releases it at the most opportune times.

V.O.A. has played almost 500 shows in 6 years of existence. Playing in the Chicago area and hitting the pavement every weekend as well as many long tours every year. Currently working on our 4th release in between tour dates with boutique studio Stranded on a Planet and producer Scott Fritz. Signed with publicist team Grit PR and distro with Hell City Records. In Europe publicity through Dr Music PR and distro through Plastic Head. We believe in cooperation and working together, not just in music but in life. We do show trades and operate like the punk bands in the early 80's. Getting stuff done! We host the Chicago Punk Rock Night and are also the go-to band in the area for benefits and fundraisers.

TELLTALE - Experimental/Post-Punk/Shoe Gaze

Brooklyn’s Telltale showcases an intriguing mix of experimental no-wave, reverb-soaked post-punk, and dark shoegaze.  Featuring Eric Gilstrap, Laurie Ruroden, Stephan C, and Lauren Andino, the quartet's ear-splitting washes of guitar feedback, deadpan chants and ominous droning wastelands doesn't so much blanket you as it does envelop you, overpowering you with Sonic Youth caterwauls and JAMC-esque walls of sound. The music churns in a slow burn, awash in effects, but there’s an aggression lurking just beneath the surface that maintains an uneasy atmosphere. There’s also a healthy dose of reverb to help wash down all the gauzy noise…(as compiled from the bands website).

WHITE SHAG - Rock Fury!

White Shag is a rock band from Detroit, Michigan. Miguel and Jorge recruited Pink through an ad they put out for a drummer a few years ago. This trio played around for a few years until one day Jorge met Laura and thought she might be a nice addition to this trio. Soon enough they jammed, magic was made and so was White Shag (as compiled from the bands website).
Radio OPIE: "White Shag is an awesome local rock band that is worth checking out! If the MC5 and Garbage had a love child, they would be named White Shag”.

Band members:
Laura Mendoza - Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
Jorge Cortez - Vocals and Lead Guitar
Miguel Cortez - Vocals and Bass
Pink Feather - Drums

DROPSHARD - Progressive Metal, Demanding Attention!

In September 2007, after being involved in the new fresh project of “Antares”, Sebastiano Benatti, Tommaso Mangione and Alex Stucchi set up “Dropshard”. The main feature of the band is the sound. It is at the same time melodic and curate, like the long instrumental compositions typical of the progressive music. Two years after their first debut, the band have been involved in various performances and in publishing two demos of unedited songs. In these years of training the ensemble was well established and reinforced with this framework: Enrico Scanu (vocals), Sebastiano Benatti (guitars), Alex Stucchi (bass), Tommaso Selleri (keyboards) and Tommaso Mangione (drums).

With this line-up Dropshard began a new range of concerts, debuting their new songs and a few historical covers from the Progressive music genre, receiving a great response from the audience. "Anywhere But Home" has been released by Sonic Vista Music in early 2011 (all as compiled from the bands website).

UNFACTORY - Lunacy!

Unfactory is a music project, which tries to express the Gothicism of 80’s under the influences of techno and industrial cultures, mixing distorted guitars, synths, experimental elements and lyrics with romance aims.

Four years had passed when Unfactory started to write new songs in the early 2010 for the successor of the "She Bleeds EP". The exchange of ideas for songs and the music was carried out entirely via the Internet. And so the songs and the concept for "Lunacy" came up in cooperation with Chris in Portugal and Gustavo in Brazil (as compiled from the bands website).

BARD OF ELY - Song Writer, Musician, Herbalist

The Bard of Ely is many things, but most of all he is a writer with a voice, a poet with a pen and a musician with a Muse! He has written many songs in many genres and also collaborated with many other musicians and singers and you can hear some of the results in this selection here! Bard of Ely has played Glastonbury Festival on several occasions and in 2004 he was a guest speaker talking about shamanic herbs and witchcraft. He was also a performer at the Green Man Festival 2003 and 2004 and his song 'Real Love and Communication' opens the CD album which takes its title from the name of the festival and was released on Double Snazzy (all as compiled on Bard of Ely's website).

In 2000 he was signed to Crai Records for an EP by a band he fronted called the TAFFIA and the group also features Phil Moxham from the legendary Young Marble Giants. Bard of Ely's controversial 'You're a Liar, Nicky Wire' fronted the EP and clinched the deal after it was banned from a leading Cardiff record store and rave reviewed in the NME singles

3FOLD PAIN - Max Metal!

The band was formed in late 2009 with an intention to play innovative music, to challenge the mind and the senses. 3Fold Pain is a 4 piece gathering of very experienced musicians with different backgrounds, still sharing the same goal: to create a professional alternative/metal/rock music act always ready to perform and deliver as much energy as possible.

Through their short period of existence they’ve played in many venues in Greece and have gained valuable stage experience and a rapidly developing fan base. In June of 2010, 3Fold Pain released their self-financed debut EP “Don’t Trust Them” and during the first month of its release (June – July 2010) managed to sell nearly 250 copies (as compiled from the bands website).

MINDMOVIE - Ocean of Dreams

Mindmovie has been playing in various bands for almost a lifetime. He started out as a guitarist, and still loves this instrument for all it has to offer. Yet time never stops, and much has changed since Mindmovie laid hands on his first second-hand six-string.

Today, his main focus is more on the production and composition of all kinds of electronic, pop and rock music, and the sounds of his guitar have become just one ingredient to be added to a new tune, albeit a very special one. Apart from his work as a composer, Mindmovie is currently involved in two band projects, the first of which is Flaming Bess, a progressive rock band founded in the late 70s. The second Band is Wi:Re (Wierschem vs Reimer) and has so far released two ep's on VIM records.

Most recently one of the album tracks has been chosen for the hollywood movie production "Mrs. Robinson goes to Smith" with Cybill Shepard. It features the vocals of L.A. recording artist Artie Q (as compiled from the bands website).

PAUL BIBBINS - Forever No Restraints!

Who I am, for now…..At the present time I am a solo artist. But the rock-n-roll power trio is my thing, or thang, as some would say. Give me a great drummer and a solid bass player and I am in hog-heaven. But situations do not always allow one to do what one wants to do. So for now, I fly solo.

Everybody who knows me says that I swing to the beat of a different drum. Maybe so, I don't really know. But, I do my best to try to create original songs that really are original and that have my own personal stamp on them. Whether I'm playing electric guitar or acoustic guitar, I always try to do things a little outside of what's generally out there musically. I also try to inject as much of myself into any cover song that I do. Listen to my version of Jimi Hendrix's classic, "Voodoo Child", to get a sense of what I mean.

Welcome to my slightly off-center world!!

REDWATER - No Limits!

There is a part of the population that is yearning for what is true in this life. People that WANT to wake up from the coma of illusion that has been forced upon us by many external forces. Can it be possible anymore in a world of increasingly forced and processed thought, that music SHOULDN'T be made and tested for the sole reason of becoming a product to sell to the masses?

A group of people that came together to break out of this mediocrity and suffering who are not afraid to take chances on any level--Adventurous song structures, diverse & eclectic sound, going wherever the music takes them but still keeping focus on melody and emotion--A group of musicians fully engaged in pushing the evolution of music while still keeping a solid footing in what has come before.

Four individuals that bring every conceivable emotion that is in ones soul to the music they create...They go by the name....REDWATER. In the simplest sense, they are a rock n' roll band that has an undying drive to create & to explore. There are no limits, and that's the way they like it.

THE TRUTHS - Sexy, Aggressive Wall of Sound ~ Stoked Magazine

Weedy indie, new rave, old wave, post-rock blah blah blah, at last a band to cut through all the bullshit and actually make you fall in love with music again!

Critical response to their live shows has been ecstatic, prompting one journalist to exclaim "The Truths are the best band I’ve seen in ten years”, Stoked magazine calling them “a sexy, aggressive wall of sound”, The Guardian calling them “absolutely f*****g amazing!” etc.

After Anthony Neale (vocals) and Joe Taylor (guitar) met through a mutual friend they started jamming on Anthony's songs and almost immediately a strong musical partnership was formed and they knew they wanted to set the world ablaze with their music. "The chemistry was there from the start”, says Joe. “It just felt right”. Having met bass player James Goddard, Joe knew that he would fit right in. Simon Ward-Wilson (keyboards, guitar) and powerhouse drummer Dave Neale were the last pieces of the jigsaw. “After the first rehearsal it was clear we could make a sound bigger than the sum of our parts”- Anthony Neale.

With one of the most charismatic lead singers around and a huge stage presence as a band, they’ve been described as “something that’s been missing from British music for a long time”. With their sights set high The Truths look set to kick the doors in this year, and take their place as one of England most exciting new bands (all as compiled from the bands website)

VERSE THE END - Contagious Rock

Armed with a powerful rhythm section, dual guitars, melodic keyboards, and heartfelt vocals, Verse The End brings forth a new brand of rock that is both unique and infectious by nature. With the members backgrounds ranging from pop to rock to metal and beyond, this group utilizes what they’ve learned from their previous endeavors, and combines their collective creativity to craft a sound that is not only distinctive, but definitely all their own.

Hailing from Hudson Valley, New York, Verse The End, have been carving out their piece of the indie music scene since late 2007. Having toured up and down the East Coast for the past two years, the band has been winning over groups of fans with their fierce brand of contagious rock.

Now, with a new name to help brand their sound across the country, a new EP recorded at NADA Studios with producer John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Armor For Sleep) and the same drive and determination that has gotten them this far, Verse The End are ready to take on the national music scene. Don’t think genres. Don’t think styles of music. This group is not what you might expect so be prepared – The dawn of a new breed of music is upon us (as compiled from the bands website).

ZZG - Prozac Nation!

ZZG was formed in 2007 when Guitarist Daniel Roberts and Bassist Keith Matthews formed a band that reflected the heyday of late 60's and early 70's hard rock. "We wanted to write guitar and bass hooks that people would still have stuck in their heads hours and hours after hearing the music. The riffs of Deep Purple were our benchmark".

After a few false starts and lots of writing drummer Craig Birnie joined the band. Dan took on the role of singer/guitarist but an element was still missing. Finally Stu Mitchell joined the band bringing modern tones. Stu balanced the old world rock feel with his own unique guitar sound. The ZZG band sound was complete.

After refining the first collection of songs the band went offline to record with "Trapped in The Mirror" completed early 2010. In May 2010, ZZG joined UK publicist Nicky Baldrian from Two Side Moon Promotions to promote "Trapped in the Mirror" in the UK and Western Europe. The band is now playing live regularly and is writing again. The first new songs “Red Dawn" and "California Rolling" are complete with currently more being arranged. A second album is planned for 2011 (all as compiled from the band's webpage).

DERRICK HART - Facing Truth!

Derrick Hart is music blessed with a rich natural iceberg. Whether looking up to a tall electric man or facing truth with its calm waves, natural beauty is all around us. In the summer of 2007, Derrick Hart converted himself into a bulldozer in order to give the power of town planning back to the residents. As a driving force of decentralization, Derrick Hart is playing an important role in a silent film about the tundra and economic development underground. Starting with local autonomy where the main federal agent in the city's future is the individual group of criminally insane ships, we forge the future image of "Derrick Hart, allergic music where leopard seals shine." By residents and abandoned train stations working together, we continuously strive for the future in contaminated oceans while taking advantage of naive rich people and protecting our eventful planet (as compiled from Derrick Hart's website).

ROSALINE - From Chicago!

hey, we are Rosaline, from Chicago. We really just try to do our own thing and write whatever kind of music we feel like. Different sounds emerge with different moods. Whatever comes out naturally is fine with us, so we mix it up in a way that makes sense. Hopefully you will share our outlook and find some songs on our records that you really enjoy. Other than that, we are a band of laborers, artists, scientists, students, and friends. Thanks for stopping by, please listen to our music and read our lyrics. We are constantly progressing in the type of sound we create. We're learning now that the authenticity of music is one of its more rewarding attributes. Just make what you want and stick to your guns! It's fun to experiment. Above all, we just love playing (as compiled from the bands website).

Rosaline, a 6 piece outfit from Chicago, is a glowing example of the rare exception to the norm. Their ambitious song writing and organic melding of styles effortlessly thrust their sound far beyond the limitations of genres.

THE WOODSMEN - Ink-Black and Spidery Rhythms!

Bring your prettiest dresses and your shiniest shoes to the wake, and we’ll bring the whiskey and the fire, and we’ll dance and we’ll throw it all on the burning funeral pyre.  Ink-black and spidery rhythms, chthonic melodies strung with rusty steel and tarnished silver and rigged with dusty rope and old cotton…

Drowned sailors reels, skeletal country ballads, jangling gypsy blues and shotgun madrigals, The Woodsmen invoke a soundtrack to Ophelia’s drowning, the sinking of the Lusitania, the battle of the Atlantic, the fall of the Roman Empire, the siege of Masada, the assassination of Jesse James, the burning of Joan of Arc, the Paris commune, the tragic deaths of Hank Sr and John the Revelator , a Venetian Carnivale, the funeral of the romantic era, the birth of the decadent, the bacchanal, the saturnalia, and raise the spectres of undead cowboys, drowned lovers, Django and Strummer, Cash and Cave, Blake and Baudelaire…(as compiled from the bands website).

STROMBLE FIX - Psychedelic Beat

Stromble Fix have been around since 1990 in the underground of the Ruhr (Denmark) area and were playing shows in youth centers and small Clubs during the early 90´s. After the band split and some years of silence, Frank and Tuffy Brazil reformed the band in 2002 and hired Axel B. on drums. Axel was no stranger to the band: together with Frank, he was member of DEHYDERGOT in 1989. And they played next door to Tuffy´s first punk rock band in the cellar of the local youth center ...Since their reformation in 2002 STROMBLE FIX have released three CDs which cover a wide range of dark independent guitar music.
Mixing together punk rock, new wave, and grunge with a psychedelic beat STROMBLE FIX are just a great live experience.
