Solitude Within ..

A soundtrack to the movies you imagine, Solitude Within is progressive rock with layered epics and dark ambient touches.
As a solo-project started by Dutch-born Lucas Wetzels to express the musical side of his ever busy mind, Solitude Within explores a labyrinth where architecture, philosophy and music are intertwined and always cross paths. Writing, production, mixing and album artwork are all done by Lucas, ceaselessly trying to capture dark moods and sweeping musical landscapes. The result is atmospheric and layered progressive rock/metal with a cinematographic touch.
Currently living and working in Buenos Aires, Lucas is already drawing up the first ideas for the next album provisionally entitled ‘Prometheus Withdrawn’, so stay tuned! (as compiled on the bands website)

Barefoot Fred ..

Hungry… This is perhaps the most accurate way to describe the culmination of musicians that manifests in the form of Barefoot Fred. Through constant self challenge, Barefoot Fred continues to push the limits of songwriting and live performance. With a dedication to quality, consistency, and an elevated passion for music, the band allows itself to take on various musical forms and explore the space that can open up new doors of expression.

Fate alone brought six seasoned musicians together to form Barefoot Fred in 2008. Though each had honed his craft through gigs in and around Chicago, the combination made the whole even greater than the sum of its parts. It is through their unique interplay that Barefoot Fred comes alive. With an obligation to constant growth and improvement, Barefoot Fred’s sound is not limited to any specific musical style. Although rooted in the pure American concept of improvisation, their music is structured in such a way that specific ideas and themes can be drawn from each song. Though they have crafted a sound all their own, one can hear the seamless fusion of rock, funk, bluegrass, reggae, jazz, country, and blues combined with world influences throughout their consistently growing catalogue of music.

Barefoot Fred has quickly made a significant impact on their growing and loyal fan base. From their very first gig they have proven that they are a musical force to be reckoned with; while their more recent gigs have demonstrated that each show will be better than the last. Barefoot Fred brings a significant following of fans to each show and always leaves with more fans than they brought. Worship the Sun, their first LP, will be a reflection of the musical themes, concepts, and dedication that Barefoot Fred insists upon delivering to its fans. “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” - Lao Tzu (as compiled from the bands website).

Somthing Utopic ..

The inspiration that feeds our musical hunger is based upon anything that we experience or see in our everyday lives. Every lyric we compose has an "on the surface" meaning with a much greater understanding buried beneath it. Something Utopic would like to thank anyone that takes the time to listen to any part of our music. We love to share our music with everyone who takes a minute to give us a chance (as stated on the band's website).

Michael Motherwell - lead singer/guitar
Andrew Reneaud - backup vocals/bass player
Keith Lambert - guitar
Sam Graziano - drummer

Fuzzorama Records ..

Fuzzorama started spring 2003!  The intention was to save this fu**edup world from more Britney and so on... The only thing you'll get to from this site is fuzz, a lot of fuzz!

We have five fuzzy bands here at Fuzzorama at the moment and then we have a few releases and bands no longer with us!

First of all;
The one and only TRUCKFIGHTERS, "Sludgy stoner grooves and droning riffs are put through the metal-electro mangler as Truckfighters blast your ears with their unique take on modern rock." - Metal hammer

And the totally awesome band ASTEROID! Heavy, progressive and with a groove that will blow your mind! Swedish spaced out 70's style fuzzrock at it's best!!!

DEXTER JONES' CIRCUS ORCHESTRA that plays music withholds hints of Swedish progressive rock combined with powerful guitar melodies and catchy drumsand!

The Riot-fuzzrock boys in THE DURANGO RIOT. There is Stooges on the left and Qotsa to the right and a lot of trouble in between.

The newest addition to Fuzzorama is the super combo from Italy called STAKE OFF THE WITCH, doom-heayv-stoner with extraordinary female vocals.

And hey! We might be looking for your band so send demos...

So... Stay tuned! (as compiled from the Fuzzorama website)

What else do you need?"  — Elias Soriano (Singer of Nonpoint) "Bands that eat, drink, sleep, live, and sweat rock 'n roll are quite rare in these days of Cookie-cutter paint by numbers prefab pretty boys..... Prospect Hill is not afraid to take chances in blazing a new path for themselves in a alt/rock/pop vein. For old and new fans of real rock 'n roll this is a must-see artist! Their single "come alive " could be the next James Bond theme. Check them out!!"  — Anthony J Resta (Multi-Platinum Record Producer) "Prospect Hill is exactly the type of band the scene desperately needs right now! The Grand Astoria on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream ..

They are The Grand Astoria. They were born and raised under the scorching sun of Russia's South and their music first saw the light of day in the blistering cold of St. Petersburg. They don't want to call their music any names but for the lack of better words are often labeled as psychedelic stoner punk band.   Even though punk rock and metal are two major influences they enjoy rock music in all its diversity, so when you listen to TGA's new record you never know what's coming up next. It could be a metal hymn, or a psychedelic vibe or a skillful bluesy number. It may sound crazy but somehow all these styles and grooves come together in really a beautiful way in TGA's music. With their love to old-school and willingness to experiment the band wins the hearts of fans and critics alike all over the world. They write music, tour with it and repeat the cycle again, succeeding in surprising their audience with the never heard before blend of rhythms and cultures.
The members mention Iron Maiden,Mudhoney, Megadeth, Faith No More and Jimi Hendrix among their major influences. DIY ethic is the usual way the band arranges their tours and record deals.

You can easily find their records for free across the internet. During the fall of 2010 The Grand Astoria played 40 shows across Europe in support of their second album. Their third album named "Omnipresence" was released at January 1, 2011. A World Tour has been announced for the whole year as well via the band's myspace (as compiled on the bands website)

Aseroid the band ...

The history of Asteroid is a psychedelic space saga, timeless and endless, with no upside or downside, but with a beautiful ending. The band, formed during the winter of 2003, has undertaken a long musical journey and developed a sound well fit to the trio constellation. After being formed as a regular stoner band, it didn’t take long before new grounds were conquered. Since then, influences have been collected from blues and British 70’s classic rock, but also from Swedish traditional folk music.

Asteroid is now back with their second album, called simply “II”. It is a more evolved but also relaxed and groovy follow up to their highly acclaimed debut album S/T. This time they locked themselves up in a studio deep in the forest, trying to capture the raw and naked sound and feeling in their music. You will hear a tighter, heavier, but also darker Asteroid. You will still recognize the characteristic energy in the sound and feel the joy delivered by the musicians.

This record is like transporting yourself back to the psychedelic woods of Sweden, but unlike other 70’s influences bands this is also fresh and unique on its own. Asteroid is today a well-known live act all over Europe with constant touring and a reputation of wild and sweaty live shows (as stated in the bands website) . Hold on to your hats!  ASTEROID IS BACK!

The Boxettes on the stream ..

The Boxettes are an all-female vocal group based in London . Their distinctive sound makes fine use of the complementing styles of their voices: Alyusha, Yvette, Neo and Harriet, and current World Female Beatbox Champion Bellatrix- all combining to evocative and powerful effect.

Since forming at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2007, the band have played nearly every festival in England, put on several shows in France, and toured India. Closer to home, The Boxettes have put on shows at some of London’s finest venues, including Ministry of Sound and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. The Boxettes have built up a fierce reputation in the past year, establishing themselves on the Chai Wallahs 2010 tour as one of the most exciting emerging bands in the UK.

The Boxettes have an unconventional a-capella sound with tight beatbox work set against dreamy, sundrenched harmonics- as each of the girls take turns in either narrating over a melody, providing chord work, beatboxing or fx sounds with their mouths. The Boxettes are by now well used to the expressions of disbelief in audience faces- the extended vocal techniques of their five members combining to elicit an enormous sound, as visceral as it is delicate, performed with swagger as well as good nature (as compiled from the bands website).

Stalker Kimmy ..

The lovely and vivacious Stalker Kimmy takes on questions from Nadine from Denmark.  Nadine is concerned that her new American boyfriend has messed by having his penis circumcised.  Kimmy expresses her views on  -  "helmet or not" while trying to understand Nadine's metaphor of penis = lightbulb?  Most of us are happy with Kimmy's presence here at Pluto Radio.  Mr. Crisman is sulking in an unknown cave hiding from the government (among many things)  He can fire me, again, if he likes... However, I believe SK is an amazing addition to our radio stream...!

Not to mention she's freakin' hot!

sincerely
GLOWBOY!
