Zelazowa ..

Spring is almost here and with it comes more ZELAZOWA shows!

We have been hard at work on some new tunes and are excited to share them with everyone. As far as news goes...

1. Starting this Wed. (the 29th), our live video for "Pretty Little Liar" will be featured in a facebook contest for us to win an all expense paid trip to SXSW this year. If you're a facebook user, please take a moment on Wednesday and vote for us here: http://apps.facebook.com/contestshq/contests/195741/voteable_entries/44629796.

2. Despite whatever the results of the above, Bryan and Kyle will be headed to SXSW in Austin, TX next month to perform four acoustic shows at select showcases. If you're headed to the festival, please check out the schedule below. We'd love to hang.

3. The next full band show is Friday, 3/9 at Mojo Main in Newark, DE. This one's gonna be a blast so if you're in the area come on out and make a night of it!

Hope to see you soon. Enjoy your week.

Coming up..

We have several new shows coming up this week.  We will be presenting another Zygmatron band, also, we've recently received many submissions from new (to us) amazing talents.  I will post with the news.  As always thank you for your listening support of the commercial free Pluto Radio stream!

Menhirs of Er Grah ...

Menhirs of Er Grah - Different World

2qvsj84.jpgBritish musician Thomas Carter doesn't stay in one genre for very long. His project March Rosetta has two albums out on the Clinical Archive netlabel which are quite different from each other. One is a pleasant and mildly avant-garde instrumental effort of electronic music while the other is a more mainstream pop outing.

Again, Mr. Carter shift gears with his new musical project Menhirs of Er Grah. Named after a Megalithic structure in France the music is as sparse and lonely as the stone. Different World can best be described as folk music. It is simply Carter's voice and guitar with another second guitar dubbed in later. The sound is, to put it simply, quite beautiful. Carter's voice has a not unpleasant wavering quality that communicates vulnerability. The guitar work provides a steady base for the lyrics which are complex yet intimate. I especially like the title track and "Red Roses". This is slow and meandering music, easy to relax to but full of meaning.

Blood Ruby on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream ..

Blood Ruby creates atmospheric alternative music somewhere in the vein of dream pop, ethereal, and neoprogressive rock. The band's two subtly emotive female vocalists ply a range that spans from lyrical, sweet mezzo, to smoky, jazz-rooted alto, delivering haunting melodies and crafted lyrics full of evocative imagery and cinematic storytelling. Spacious mixing and production lend prismatic detail to the music's lush instrumentation. The result is a textured, layered sound that takes listeners on an ambient, often dark, and sometimes epic journey through drifting landscapes of emotion, strange places, and complex characters.  (as compiled on the band's webpage)

Blood Ruby is:
Cynthia Conrad (vocals)
Margaret Browning (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards)
Thomas Wall (guitar, bass, keyboards, programming, engineering)

Kafka ...

https://www.facebook.com/kafkamusic

About

Kafka is singer songwriter with an alternative twist, is adrenaline-rushing, soul-soothing literate power pop that’s passionate, hook-heavy and raw.
Biography
Burnley, the home of indie rocker Kafka, has been called one of England’s most blighted towns. A weak economy, lack of public benefits, and rampant social problems make it one of the UK’s only areas to actually have a decreasing population. And most of the year it rains. But, just like the singer-songwriter’s simultaneously bittersweet and uplifting music, his somewhat maligned hometown still hold...See More

The Black Beards on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream ..

The Black Beards are back, and rock more than ever! The bands first album “Rock and Roll” won prestigious criticism from the press and a full tour of concerts across the Balearic Islands, Spain. The following is as compiled at this bands website, (interpreted from Spanish): The Beards rock and roll again with a new album under their arms: ‘Southern Accents for a Rock Generation’. Crisp and sharp guitars, a powerful rhythm section, harmonicas, slide and Hammond, and words about life that spring from a young but hardened throat, all forming the distinctive elements of sound that exudes the aroma of genuine inspiration by growing up listening to bands like Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes, Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, Diamond Dogs (David Bowie), AC / DC, Jimmy Hendrix and many others.

Country Rockin' Rebels ..

"Too Rock for Country, Too Country for Rock "
Up from a dusty California horizon, slinging guitars and riding old cars, rise the Country Rockin' Rebels. The Rebels mix old school lyrical charm, with hot greasy guitar and a solid rhythm.  Kid from Minnesota and kid from Virginia meet out west and make music under the bright California sunshine. Inspired by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, the Hanks Three and The White Stripes the Rebels mix the Bakersfield country boogie with down home southern blues and rock. (as compiled on the bands website)

Just played some amazing rock from The Grand Astoria...  I personally enjoy the keyboard work in this very heavy band.  Followed The Grand Astoria with some Detroit rock - White Shag, then some Red Water.   What a diverse musical stew we brew here on Planet Pluto!

Leftover Salmon...

Looking back over the past 25 years of rootsy, Americana, string-based music, the impact of Leftover Salmon is impossible to deny. Formed in Boulder, CO in 1989 the group was one of the first bluegrass bands to add drums and tour rock & roll bars, helping Salmon become a pillar of the jam band scene and unwitting architects of the jam grass genreusic, the impact of Leftover Salmon is impossible to deny. Formed in Boulder, CO in 1989 the group was one of the first bluegrass bands to add drums and tour rock & roll bars, helping Salmon become a pillar of the jam band scene and unwitting architects of the jam grass genre.

Though the band members are reticent to accept the weight of their influence, Leftover Salmon co-founder, singer, guitarist, fiddle and mandolin player Drew Emmitt does reflect fondly on the band’s early days. “We knew we were doing something special” he says. “At that point in the early-90′s, it was the birth of the jam band movement, Phish was starting out, Widespread Panic was starting out, and they were a little ahead of us, obviously, but we were one of the first bands to get out there with bluegrass and just get on the road and try to make something happen without a record deal. We were just following in the footsteps of New Grass Revival, Hot Rize and Little Feat, but by doing that I think we inspired some other bands too.”  (as compiled on the bands website)

Buddha Sentenza ..

After a seemingly random sonic collision over the city of Heidelberg in late 2008, the constellation of *Buddha Sentenza* began to form during the darkest hours of that cold and silent winter. Deep under the earth, in the hidden bowels of the Klonlabor tunnel complex, the searing strings and pounding drums condensed rapidly to form a nebulous cloud of loosely jammed, spaced-out, rocking riffs. Rotating freely around some of the most ancient soundscapes – from the astral end of the Pink Floyd to the depths of distant galaxies such as Black Sabbath – Buddha Sentenza has continued to expand while drawing energy from contemporary constellations. (as compiled on the bands website)

Buddha Sentenza are:
General Punishment – Guitar
Baa Baa Blacksheep – Guitar / Violin
Munro Merthahens – Bass
Jesus Malverde – Drums / Percussion
Pontifex Maximus – Organ / Synthesizer
