DREAM ELECTRIK on the stream @ Pluto Radio...!

Dream Electrik began as a once a week jam band in the late 80's. After a while it became apparent that there was something more to this that should be pursued. Over the next six or seven years the group performed in the Buffalo N.Y. area, surviving more than it's share of personnel changes, but never really getting the chance to record. The group split up in 97. In 2004, Carl Cino and Steve Thurston finally put together the first Dream Electrik CD "Fingerprints." Sadly, Steve past away in 2009 shortly after completing their 2nd release, "Transcendental," with Carl to continue Dream Electrik on his own. Carl has played guitar and composed music in many Western New York rock, progressive, and fusion groups over the years, including Melissa, Masque, Beau Monde, Eidolon, Big Cat, Texture and Blink of an Eye. In addition to writing and recording music for his project Dream Electrik, he is currently working and recording the 3rd album for the progressive rock band Navigator, and also recording with The Paul Wilcox Band.

Dream Electrik's 2nd release "Transcendental" What we were trying to achieve with this CD was to combine the old and the new. Taking pieces from the many influences we have had over the years, (sounds, feels, instruments) and adding them to new compositions to create new 'classic songs'. We wanted the songs to sound fresh, but with a slightly familiar quality to them. Unlike many fusion albums, you should walk away with melodies and riffs stuck in your head after a single listen. For the most part I think we were successful, though there were a few self indulgent moments. We'll let you be the judge . Enjoy! Carl
