The Low Lows .
Founded
in 2006 by Mangham Parker, the Low Lows are named after the final
recording of NYC noise-pop trio Parker & Lily. They have released
two full-length albums and one EP (Fire On The Bright Sky, 2006;
Elizabeth Pier, 2008; and Shining Violence, 2009) and have toured
extensively in the U.S. and Europe.
The
magazine El Pais declared their latest Barcelona festival show
"monstrously sad and brilliantly anachronistic..." while in London the
BBC called their recent live radio performance "marvelous... absolutely beautiful... one of our favorite sessions of the year".
In
various incarnations the Low Lows have ranged from simple trio to
sprawling, 14-player live spectacle. Their current live show consists of
a spartan five-piece semi-acoustic lineup, though recordings still tend
to be wall-of-sound affairs. Residing previously in New York City and
Athens, Georgia, they are now based out of Austin, Texas.
Recently
the band has performed songs at the Flaming Lips-curated All Tomorrow's
Parties Festival in New York and for Austin City Limits Stage Left
Television. Their third and fourth full-length albums, "Gaudy Frame" and
"Light All The Lights" are slated for sequential release in 2013. (as
compiled on the bands website)

Chris Klimecky .
I am so happy to finally announce the official release of my new album, This Journey! It's been a huge endeavor of heart, soul, and effort - a dream project to have the time to realize my vision as best as I possibly could. In songwriting, performance, and production, this is a new high bar that I am thrilled to share with you! In celebration, I've posted the opening song "Arrival" for you to preview on Reverbnation.
The whole album is available for digital download from my Reverbnation store, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and CD Baby, with the high quality hard copy/CD available only from CD Baby (links
to all below). If initial feedback holds true, this will be a disc
that becomes part of your permanent collection, not just a charity
purchase from an indie artist that you pass to a friend after one
listen. In fact, I'm so confident you'll enjoy it, if you buy a hard
copy/CD from CD Baby, I'll give you a personal money back guarantee - if you really aren't happy with it, contact me, send me the disc, and I'll Paypal you the purchase price in return.
Thanks in advance for your support and I hope to hear your feedback (like the comments below) soon!
Chris
"This Journey
is an amazing album. 'Michael W. Smith meets Queensryche.' I have spun
it about five times now and it keeps getting better...an altruistic
display of chops and songwriting prowess!! ~Raymond Hayden, Maurice the Fish Records
"Chris, the album is AMAZING! Listened to it the past 3 days in my car. AWESOME STUFF!" ~Jeff Ross, The Aquarium Radio Show (nwczradio.com)
"Wow,
your new CD is MAGNIFICENT!!! I've spent the last three days
listening to it non-stop, and I must say, you've outdone yourself this
time. Really an amazing piece of work. I think you've grown
considerably as a songwriter and a vocalist. Your guitar playing was
always pretty smoking, and that's on display here, too. This is
definitely going to be one of my 'summer soundtrack' CDs over the next
few months." ~Aaron Cohen, WQXR New York

Chasing Disaster .
"Another band I dig on the stream... Chasing Disaster. Deserving to be heard!" - Lee
Bio: from band's site...
*******New Mexico Music Awards has nominated our song "Chasing A Disaster" for "Song of the Year" *********
Exploding out of Albuquerque, NM comes Chasing Disaster. The band tears up an extremely unique, retro-contemporary rock sound that is fronted by Cody Bond, who belts smooth and melodic, yet hyper-powerful, vocals (somewhere between Robert Plant and Jeff Buckley). Always by his side, Cody is complemented by the fluidly multi-talented song-writer, guitarist, vocalist and pianist, Yigal Cohen. Fueled by pure style and intensity, Michael Gatten delivers the beat with pounding, straight-up rock ‘n’ roll flavor. Bassist Jon McMillan holds the groove together with an amazing musical foundation based in the complexities of jazz and high energy rock.
After releasing their debut 2011 EP, Bullet For a Rose, the band quickly rose to the top of the local Albuquerque rock charts on Reverb Nation. They have been Featured Artists for Windows Media Player, Reverb Nation and SAS Music & More. They were also highlighted in their local publication, The Albuquerque Journal. What is most important to Chasing Disaster, however, are the fans and feedback they receive from them.
“There’s nothing quite like getting in front of a massive crowd of people and musically taking them places they didn’t know existed. This is what we live for.” –Cody Bond
Chasing Disaster is all about giving back to the their fans and their community. They recently participated in the nationally acclaimed “Guitars 4 Troops” by donating free downloads of their EP to US Military members all over the world. The band also readily and eagerly donates their time and talent for local fundraising and awareness programs. If you are interested in booking Chasing Disaster, use the contact link provided at www.chasingdisaster.com. Oh, and don’t forget to always bring a fresh pair of socks with you. Yours will most certainly be rocked off. (bio from band's website:

The Phantoms ..
Following the success of last year's single 'Revolution', The Phantoms are back with a new call to arms 'Wasting Time'. The Phantoms pride themselves on producing instantly catchy indie rock anthems in the same vein as Catfish and the Bottlemen and Arctic Monkeys, both are bands they cite as being big influences on their sound. For interviews and live sessions please give me a shout. Thanks, Andrea x |

"Soaring Atmospheric Britpop... What Oasis would have sounded like if
they'd listened to The Doors rather than the The Beatles." Jim Gellatly, XFM Scotland Based in West Lothian, Scotland, The Phantoms formed in May 2012, quickly winning an army of fans with their huge sound and infectious on-stage energy. It didn't take long for Scotland's most influential DJs to pick up on the buzz around the band with debut EP 'This Is How It Should Be' earning widespread airplay. A UK tour and support slots for Catfish and the Bottlemen and We Were Promised Jetpacks preceeded the release of the anthemic 'Revolution' a single that was played by radio stations across the UK, earning praise for its sweeping guitars and driving beat. Influenced by Kasabian, Royal Blood, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Arctic Monkeys, their new single 'Wasting Time' is a perfect example of the sound that has earned The Phantoms the reputation as one of Scotland's most exciting prospects. Solstice Coil .
Solstice Coil launches crowdfunding campaign to record new album
Solstice
Coil, Israel’s first alt-prog-rock band formed on the web, has
officially launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance the band’s
upcoming third album on indiegogo.
After
self-producing and self-financing the successful debut ‘A Prescription
for Paper Cuts’ (2005) and its follow-up ‘Natural Causes’ (2011),
Solstice Coil is joining the latest trend in the industry and turning to
its fans for help in financing the creation of the band’s new album.
Fans
who choose to pledge for the album will receive a variety of unique
rewards including special credit on the album, stickers, an exclusive
remixed version of A Prescription for Paper Cuts, and more.
The
more creative fans will even get the chance to partake in the actual
album by recording vocals for one of the songs, and even sending in
their own lyrics for Solstice Coil to compose and record.
The campaign features a humoristic video much akin to the band’s 2011 Dream Theater Parody, which scored Solstice Coil some major internet points. The indiegogo video includes some very surprising guests.
The
first 100 people to pledge and preorder the album will receive a
significant discount. This fundraiser has a fixed goal of 6,000, which
means it’s all or nothing - so if you’re a Solstice Coil fan don’t wait
and pledge now!

Eric Walker .
Eric
Walker’s career in entertainment began in the early eighties in acting.
He is most well known for the two movies he starred in as Mace Towani
for George Lucas in the Star Wars spin off known as The Ewok Adventures.
It was High School at LACHSA that he began his artistic journey into the uncompromising creative depth of music and all it has to offer. But he wasn’t satisfied with just knowing how to execute mere music play and this would lead Eric to purchasing his first keyboard, a Roland synthesizer. This allowed him to practice at home with no limit access to embedding himself into his endeavor to attain some kind of admirable mastery of the music he loved so much. (as compiled on the Eric Walker website)

Bio
When Australian band Dingo Landlord moved from Cape Cockburn (NT, Australia, near Croker Island) to Amsterdam (Holland) in search for fame, fortune, drugs, booze and loose women, they instantly found a couple of these aspirations to have come true upon arrival. (Read loose women, booze and drugs a plenty.) Ironically, just after two weeks in Holland they met Holistic healer Raoulfo Arnolfolonzo who convinced them to end their grievous ways by making them renounce drugs and alcohol altogether. This, sadly, made the lose interest in women as well. Clean and sober and with too much time on their hands they met up with Brit guitarist Raedolph Huffington and formed the band Whipping Pole (now with Nigel St. Davids only on vocal duties instead of 6 strings as well). Their first album "Eat The Meat" was not received well by just about anybody and they were swiftly dropped by their management and the record subsequently was never released. Quickly they formed a new band EcP79 (same line up, different name) and went to work on their soon to be finished next album and current masterpiece “When The Win Was One”. Hopefully this will lead to some proper management representation in the future and who knows, maybe even the fulfillment of their remaining aspirations. (per the band's website).

The Scaramanga Six ..
Lunging precariously into their 20th year of existence, rock noir specialists THE SCARAMANGA SIX
have deemed it a reasonably good idea to accept two gig invitations in
one day, despite being more than old enough to know better. This
ludicrous day is fast approaching, for the date of it is:
SATURDAY 31st JANUARY 2015
On this day, The Six will (dis)grace the stage at these events:
An
all-day spectacular event featuring 2 stages of music from a wealth of
bands from the Westcountry and beyond. The Scaramanga Six will be
onstage at approx. 4pm. What better way to warm the winter cockles at this time of year?
More details on the facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/ events/624505577661915/
A
very special fundraiser gig for Sir Tim Smith at this intimate and
excellent venue in the city. A few bands on during the night +
DJs/general partying, but I believe The Scaramanga Six should be on at 9pm.
Don’t have the Facebook event to hand, but let us know if you need any more info.
Anyone out there mental enough to consider doing both of these and joining The Six in the mad dash up the M5?
See you there!
Regards,
Steve/Paul/Gareth/Julia

Cactus Hunters.
"Kinda like if Robbie Robertson went out drinking
with Buck Owens and wound up passed out in New Orleans." --Freight Train
Boogie Magazine
Cactus Hunters were formed in the Hudson Valley region of New York state around the songwriting of Lance Juckas. Lance along with Fred Scribner (Gavin DeGraw, Little Sammy Davis, Levon Helm, Delbert McClinton) and Aaron Hurwitz (The Band, Rick Danko, Mercury Rev, Levon Helm, Dave Brubeck) recorded a twelve song album outside of Woodstock, New York. The Cactus Hunters self-titled debut album was released on Rustic Records in October 2003.
The Cactus Hunters debut album received critical praise and was generously embraced by radio stations ranging from country to alternative college radio. And, thanks in part to word of mouth and devoted fans and DJs, the debut Cactus Hunters album continues to grow in popularity along with their fan-base throughout Europe and Japan. The debut album "Cactus Hunters" charted on the AMA, FAR, and Roots Rock charts.
With the release of their second album titled "Something Gone," the Cactus Hunters once again conjure a collection of songs that weld together elements and inspiration from rock and roll, country, folk, roots, psychedelia, rockabilly, blues, 60s-garage, and the rich history and tradition of the great Americana songbook.

Mumpsy.
The
Florida based musical group known as Mumpsy all seem to gravitate
towards the melodies of early and mid-sixties Brit Pop bands, namely The
Kinks and The Beatles. Punk expression lends itself via the Misfits and
The Stooges, and that's what adds to the excitement of seeing Mumpsy
play; you never know which side of the muse they'll be enticing.

Last Train Home.
"One of the country's most formidable roots-rock bands."
That's the assessment of Nashville's Tennessean newspaper about Last Train Home (as stated on the bands website). And while roots-rock is at the heart of LTH's sound, don't overlook the country, bluegrass, swing, blues, folk, pop, and Tin Pan Alley influences you'll find if you lend this band an ear. What began as a part-time band in Washington D.C. back in 1997 has evolved into an acclaimed full-time touring group based out of Nashville.
LTH frontman Eric Brace is a former staff writer for The Washington Post where he was a columnist covering the local music and nightlife scene. Prior to Last Train Home, Eric played in several Washington area bands, including B-Time, the Beggars, and Kevin Johnson & the Linemen. He also ran a local rock label, Top Records, for many years, before focusing on his own music.
In 2005, the band released the CD "Bound Away," and followed that in 2007 with "Last Good Kiss," both widely-praised CDs that showed the band's extraordinary growth. That artistic evolution was rewarded with appearances on the CBS "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and on the syndicated radio show "Mountain Stage."
To celebrate its tenth anniversary,
LTH recorded and released a live concert DVD and CD, "Last Train Home
Live at IOTA," a vivid document that captures the dynamic live
performance that has become the hallmark of this band.

Junk, the band..
If
you are expecting to hear your run of the mill cover band, with
tonalities of most popular music, think again! JUNK has emerged as one
of Phoenix’s hottest Junk-Funk bands, heating up the underground of the
Arizona hot desert. After sifting through debris and rubbish, JUNK has
emerged as a group with tight musicianship, which equals a musical
complexity that is second to none.
These
guys aren’t going anywhere, and their style is so different it is sure
to make an impression on everyone who enjoys the music scene. You can
catch their next performance on Current Events page (all as compiled
from the bands websote).

Hendrix + B.B. King!
Okay. Youtube has an amazing ability to give away great rock and roll from yesteryear - for free. We play commercial free music from contemporary musicians, but, the attraction of mixing the contemporary with the old is too great for me to avoid. Every time I play an amazing new band I think of the old that sounds close, and , perhaps, was/is inspiration. So, seeing the unright give-away on Youtube, but/yet, understanding how and why it has come about, we just loaded a show where Jimmy Hendrix played with B.B. King. Enjoy. The show will run in three hour rotation through Tues. morning. I thank each and everyone for listing to our radio stream!
(by the way I'm not a fan of musicians working for free - I just have to figure how to get them the dough in the contemporary).

JP Corwyn.
How
could you be so blind? You haven’t heard of JP Corwyn? You haven’t seen
him live? You haven’t heard his music? How embarrassing for you.
Really, though. It’s ok. You’re in the right place. For JP, the
rationale for the blind jokes is, well, reasonable. He is legally blind.
Born with a degenerative condition, he has been legally blind since
birth, with the shades pulling ever tighter throughout his
as-yet-brief-but-potent life. This makes his genre tag of Blind Indie
Rock make more sense. Otherwise, he’d just be sort of pretentious and
snarky, but not in the fun depraved sit-com way.
Corwyn’s vocal-driven indie rock style is infectious, reminiscent of Toad the Wet Sprocket’s Glen Phillips co-writing songs with Angie Aparo that get snatched by Adam Levine of Maroon 5, with occasional stomps into Creed and Pearl Jam-esque electric anthem territory.
Once and always a New Yorker, Corwyn was born on Long Island, and now makes his home and home base in Seminole, Florida after spending several post-high school years in Washington, D.C. He sang before he spoke and declared his musical vocation when he was 5 years old. His family was thrilled. Sarcasm. Their reticence would have been justified, if JP’s musical talent and gift for genuine emotional connection had not been so pronounced. His desire to draw a crowd and love of the electricity found in the performance experience is a through-line in his success, as is his love of story. Story is king in Corwyn’s music. Story telling is more important than a clever lyric, and true listening is more important than feet tapping. Most often, the story is of triumph, survival, some form of powering through, and, during conversation, the inevitable: blind jokes. The really offensive, really funny ones.
Adrian and the sickness.
Adrian
and the Sickness is an undeniable front of infectious pop concoction
wrapped around electric, bombastic rock and roll. They have been wowing
live audiences with sweet melody and sheer sonic power since their debut
in February 2004. Guitarist Adrian Conner also plays lead in Hell’s
Belles, an AC/DC tribute band so fearsome that Angus Young himself is a
devoted fan. She’s a deft soloist and a sure hand with a stinging riff,
and she’s demonstrated her talents in front of demanding AC/DC fans all
over the world. But she’s also a formidable pop-rock songwriter, penning
honest, forthright songs spiked with catchy, irresistible hooks. Her
original music has been called “exciting, rambunctious and kinda scary”
in Guitar Player Magazine (2007).
In 2008, Adrian’s endearing
melodies as well as her scalding six-string caught the attention of
fellow Austin resident, songwriter and bassist for the Gogo’s, Kathy
Valentine, who produced the band’s fourth CD, B.F.D. (2009). Kathy’s
attention to sonic detail and eye for the architecture of pop
composition resulted in an album that combines the rock fury and
dazzling guitar of Angus’ best, with the approachability and energy of
early Go-Go’s-style pop-punk. Adrian and the Sickness released B.F.D.,
under their own label, Fantom Records, which charted on CMJ stations
across the US and Canada, in early 2010.
Recently, the band has begun
pre-production on their fifth album and Kathy Valentine is on tap to
produce once again. Commanding, untamed, and with a kinetic live show to
level all comers, Austin’s Adrian & The Sickness are just what the
Dr. ordered (as compiled from their website).
"Badass dreadlocked female Texas guitar player and her wang-dang-sweet-poontanging band."

Acustronica.
Based near Perugia, in central Italy, Acustronica is a label and
netlabel with a specific purpose: to find and to promote those musicians
and bands who are making some refreshing and creative music.
Founded in 2009 by musician Massimo Discepoli (aka Nheap), Acustronica catalog features music of a wide range of genres: jazz to electronic, funk to ambient, experimental to pop...simply put, we don't like genres distinctions and boundaries...what we DO like is quality and originality.
We also want to stimulate collaborations between artists, hopefully building a sorta of "artists community".
We offer both digital and "physical" (good, old fashioned CDs) releases; our digital releases are distributed for free or (in some selected cases) for sale at a small fee, on our site and on iTunes and others shops. Our "paid for" digital release often are available for free, for a short time, before we put them on sale; so we advise you to sign up our newletter, so you won't miss our promotions.

Surak - Space Invaders |
“The album is a stellar work of excellence.” Floor Shime Zipper Boots “A noteworthy launch that eludes all genre traps and clichés with ease.” ambientexotica.com “Surak has managed to lace Space Invaders with such intricate music and emotion that it presents the listener with a beautiful dream-like sensation of falling into the unknown.” Sound and Motion Magazine "And here goes something I wouldn’t miss at any cost. Easy listen, easy flaw, easy vibes, easily accessible. Everything about this project is great as it carries an extreme minimalist side with some exquisite drone elements backed up by spoken lyrics few places.” TheSirenSound.com |
