The Circuit-Bent Project's recording sessions began officially in May of 2004. The project itself started much earlier than that though, it just didn't have a name yet. Back in the fall of 2000, Jesse Mesa-Savage aka Tablebeast, began experimenting with circuit-bending and soon came up with a grand idea. The project is a recycling of resources on a multifaceted scale: turning modified gear (Speak and Spells, Modular Casio SK-1's, Drum Machines, etc.) into an orchestra of equipment for recording and then selling the equipment to fund the recording and release of a record based on those very instruments.
After years of gear building and sound experimentation, Jesse began working with Tim Wright in the summer of 2004 on what was now called The Circuit-Bent Project. This collaboration soon spawned the LP, Slow Children Playing. (as compiled on the bands website)
