ZZG on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream.

ABOUT ZZG...

ZZG "...the originality of the music, and ZZG's attempt to reflect and re-imagine early rock, is what really shines here. Far from the mainstream, and certainly no where near current modern rock trends, ZZG's Trapped in the Mirror is an interesting, innovative and entertaining platter of retro progressive rock. Recommended. 4.0/5.0 Review: Craig Hartranft, 07.26.2010 ZZG were formed in 2007 when Guitarist Daniel Roberts and Bassist Keith Matthews formed a band that reflected the heyday of late 60's and early 70's hard rock. "We wanted to write guitar and bass hooks that people would still have stuck in their heads hours and hours after hearing the music. The riffs of Deep Purple were our benchmark". After a few false starts and lots of writing drummer Craig Birnie joined the band. Dan took on the role of singer/guitarist but an element was still missing. Finally Stu Mitchell joined the band bringing modern tones. Stu balanced the old world rock feel with his own unique guitar sound. The ZZG band sound was complete. After refining the first collection of songs the band went offline to record with "Trapped in The Mirror" completed early 2010. In May 2010, ZZG joined UK publicist Nicky Baldrian from Two Side Moon Promotions to promote "Trapped in the Mirror" in the UK and Western Europe. The band is now playing live regularly and is writing again. The first new songs Red Dawn" and "California rolling" are complete with more being arranged right now. A second album is planned for early 2011. (AS COMPLIED FROM THE BAND'S WEBSITE).

Secret Skwirl on Pluto Radio!

In late 2009, a recording engineer (Sheldon Gomberg) and a friend of his drove by a garage sale, in Tarzana, CA; and noticed a stack of 2 inch tape boxes. After a brief discussion with the homeowner, he found out that the tapes had apparently been left in a closet, under the stairs of her home, and were there when she moved in. She found the tapes when the wood floors of the house were being refinished. She was the fourth owner of the home, which was built (according to her) in 1972. There were 23 boxes of tape; which Sheldon bought for the forty-seven bucks that he had in his wallet, at the time....  (more info can be found @ http://secretskwirl.com/)

Chenard Walcker on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream.

"Found this amazing sound on the Internet Archive.  Chenard Walcker is pure entertainment." - Lee Crisman.

Rain - Chenard Walcker
Chenard Walcker was born and raised upon no secret formula but this one: Surrealist altruism. So, he became a cut and paste addict. He made his first steps in the visual field, but soon let aside photocollages to concentrate only on music. Chenardwalcker.com has been online since march 2003 and presents a large selection of his work as a samplecore artist, whatever this might mean. All the music is available in both the Free Sample Zone and the Internet Archive...

ALPHA PREVAIL - Modern Arena Rock

With roots in Orange County, CA, Alpha Prevail is made up of four young men with a lust for life and a passion for good, honest music.  Alpha Prevail mixes a strong pallete of hard rock force with colorful artistic technicality. Their sound can be defined as Modern Arena Rock.

In a phrase, ALPHA PREVAIL can be defined as Self-Actualization; the achievement of one's full potential through creativity, independence, spontaneity, and a grasp of the real world. Regardless of what your passion is, ALPHA PREVAIL is the harnessing of that emotion, the recognition of the talents you possess, and the channeling of the two to achieve your goals and dreams. Black Wyrm Seed on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream...

"This an amazing band with vibe totally it's own.  Brilliant to listen to after the burn." - Lee Crisman.

Influences:
Sickened by the sad state of modern mainstream music, the gents from Black Wyrm Seed bartered for a kilo of “magic beans” in a backalley deal somewhere on the South Side of Chicago, and shortly thereafter found themselves in an utterly foreign — and yet strangely inviting — domain. There are some who might refer to the place as “parts unknown”; others might call it “the great beyond”; and its exact coordinates remain unclear. But this much is certain: it lies somewhere between 1966 and the mountains of the moon…and to Black Wyrm Seed, it is now home.

Allgood on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream.

Allgood was originally called the Allgood Music Company. The band was based out of Athens, GA. Through constant touring, the band grew a following in the southeastern United States. Constantly changing set lists and additions of new songs appealed to the masses. The band created a demo tape of original songs entitled "Reel to Real". Taking only one day to record all 8 songs, the band used this for promotion to get gigs at bars and colleges. Next up was a 45 rpm called "Meat Salad". Meat Salad was sent to the college radio stations looking for more exposure. In 1991, the band recorded "Ride the Bee". Ride the Bee consisted of a few re-recorded songs found on "Reel to Real" and a few new songs. Most notably is the epic song "Trilogy". This is Allgood's Freebird. In 1993, the band was signed to A&M records. The band came out with another CD called 'Uncommon Goal'. This album included songs that the band was already including in their live shows. One of the great things that Allgood did was to always include new songs. As a follow-up to Uncommon Goal, the band put out a live album called "Kickin' and Screamin'. This highlighted songs from Ride the Bee and Uncommon Goal along with two unreleased songs, Blood and Sugar Sweet. Allgood were consumate songwriters. They were constantly evolving their songs. You can see the evolution of their songs from "Reel to Real" to "Ride the Bee". The band was also co-headlining the HORDE tour, increasing their exposure to the masses. The band officially called it quits in late 1995. Recently the band has decided to perform a reunion show at the Georgia Theatre in Athens. The "Theatre", as it is referred to by Georgia natives is considered home to Allgood. This reunion will take place April 8th, 2006 and will feature original band members Mike Sain on bass, Corky Jones singing lead and playing rhythm guitar, and Clay Fuller on lead guitar. To complete the line up, John and Noel Felty from Jupiter Coyote will be sitting in on guitar and drums. 2010 the band reforms with the original three: Jones, Fuller and Sain to be joined by Noel Felty on drums and Neal Lucas on guitar. ..  (as compiled on the band's website)

WHITE TRASH WHIPLASH - Southern Rock, Trash, Country...Cheeder calls it "Dirt Rock".

Cheeder and the Dr. like to write songs, so they did...
The boys came together to make those songs fly.
... We made a record.
We played a ton of juke joints, two bit road houses, bars & festivals all over the damn place.
The crowds got bigger & the shows got crazier.
All along, kept writin' songs.
The train was rollin' down a rickety set of rails at 180 mph.
Cheeder, Dr. & the band all lost their F*#ckin' minds in the crazy mixed up world of Rock N' Roll.
The Dr. thought he would retire to Florida.
After an almost two-year hiatus, with the Dr. out of retirement, the WhiteTrash WhipLash rides again.
We have a Sh*t-Ton of songs we've never recorded & a whole lot of gas left in the tank of this old tractor!

Their new record "WHISKEY GUN" dropped Summer 2011...watch for the WhiteTrash WhipLash coming soon to a stage near you!! (as compiled on the bands website)

ELVIS DELUXE - Stoner Rock/Psychedelic/Garage

In 2002 four long-time friends who had been involved in different bands (mostly HC/post HC/rock stuff like Ahimsa, Coalition, Afraid of That Day) started to jam together playing what they had a great affection for their entire lives: ‘70s-influenced stoner rock.

In 2003 they recorded a demo which turned out to be pretty popular among the slowly growing breed of their fans. Soon they became one of... the most active Warsaw bands, crossing all the genres and being present at different types of shows from punk rock to rock’n’roll to hardcore and rocking the nights out like crazy. Every once in a while they hit the road to gig Poland, Lithuania, Germany, ending up in some Czech clubs, making a nice soundtrack to bar fights there.

The world rolled on, the boys played more gigs (sharing the stage with, among others, Karma to Burn, Jucifer or Parkway Drive) and finally there came the time to reveal what was going on in their heads. On “Favourite State of Mind” the sound is full of space, stylish and the non-obvious guitars are accompanied by multi-layered vocals.   Elvis Deluxe applies a strong rock’n’roll punch to your jaw that will make you hear colours and see the divine beauty of their music.

The dudes have charisma and have the skills and even though they’re taking it easy, they take it seriously. The years of long going friendship and jamming together made them only tighter and hungrier for good shows and the road adventures. They will roll slow and if you stand on their way... well, you can be sure to roll with them... (as compiled on the bands website)

It took them a while to record their very first full length, but when they did, it turned out to be really worth waiting for. The record was called “Lazy” (2007) and well... it really was. The title illustrated Elvis’ attitude towards the so-called reality and their music. (as compiled on the bands website)

Chris Klimecky new release

I am so happy to finally announce the official release of my new album, This Journey! It's been a huge endeavor of heart, soul, and effort - a dream project to have the time to realize my vision as best as I possibly could. In songwriting, performance, and production, this is a new high bar that I am thrilled to share with you! In celebration, I've posted the opening song "Arrival" for you to preview on Reverbnation.
The whole album is available for digital download from my Reverbnation store, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and CD Baby, with the high quality hard copy/CD available only from CD Baby (links to all below). If initial feedback holds true, this will be a disc that becomes part of your permanent collection, not just a charity purchase from an indie artist that you pass to a friend after one listen. In fact, I'm so confident you'll enjoy it, if you buy a hard copy/CD from CD Baby, I'll give you a personal money back guarantee - if you really aren't happy with it, contact me, send me the disc, and I'll Paypal you the purchase price in return.
Thanks in advance for your support and I hope to hear your feedback (like the comments below) soon!
Chris
"This Journey is an amazing album. 'Michael W. Smith meets Queensryche.' I have spun it about five times now and it keeps getting better...an altruistic display of chops and songwriting prowess!! ~Raymond Hayden, Maurice the Fish Records
"Chris, the album is AMAZING! Listened to it the past 3 days in my car. AWESOME STUFF!" ~Jeff Ross, The Aquarium Radio Show (nwczradio.com)
"Wow, your new CD is MAGNIFICENT!!! I've spent the last three days listening to it non-stop, and I must say, you've outdone yourself this time. Really an amazing piece of work. I think you've grown considerably as a songwriter and a vocalist. Your guitar playing was always pretty smoking, and that's on display here, too. This is definitely going to be one of my 'summer soundtrack' CDs over the next few months." ~Aaron Cohen, WQXR New York

Dexter Jones' Circus Orchestra on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream.

Picture of Dexter Jones' Circus Orchestraphoto maline casta Dexter Jones’ Circus Orchestra music withholds hints of Swedish progressive rock combined with powerful guitar melodies and catchy drums. It stretches itself between hard driven riffs and accoustic ballads. The band has been compared to everything from Mammoth Volume and Bob Dylan to Blue Oyster Cult and Thin Lizzy. Comparisons aside: -This is probably how the 70`s would sound today. Its a true gem with endless potential!

Dexter Jones’ Circus Orchestra formed in 2000 in UmeÃ¥, Sweden by Tia Marklund, David and Daniel Israelsson, HÃ¥kan Dalsfelt and Kent Jonsson. The debut record “The Losers are Back in Town” was recorded in 2003 and released by Freebird Records as a 7” vinyl.

Work on a full length album started shortly after and the self titled debut (on Freebird Records) was released in 2004, containing
10 dynamite songs. Slowly things started to happen. DJCO was booked at Eurosonic Festival January 2005 and toured mainland Europe twice, together with the cult band Hypnos 69. The debut LP got great reviews and was even hailed ”the album of the year” by some of the leading European rock magazines. The songs could also be found on a few compilation records such as “The Ultimate fuzzcollection” (Fuzzorama Records).

During 2006 some changes were made in the band.  (as compiled from the band's website).

"This is a fantastic band with their own unique vibe.  We are delighted to play the music of Dexter Jones' Circus Orchestra on the commercial free Pluto Radio stream.   My best from the great American desert." Lee-

COUNTRY ROCKIN' REBELS - Country / Blues / Rock and Roll

Kid from Minnesota and kid from Virginia meet out west and make music under the bright California sunshine. The boys were inspired by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, The Hanks Three and The White Stripes and mix the Bakersfield country boogie with down home southern rock and blues. Now a five-piece with an incomparable rhythm section, dueling slide and lead guitars the Rebels bring passion, heart, creative songwriting as well as captivating musicianship to every performance. Chris Klimecky Producer/Musician.

I hope 2012 is treating you well so far. March is here and I'm so excited about the coming month - my new album, This Journey, is officially (and finally) done and off to the replicators! It will be ready for distribution, both in hard copy and electronic form, in a few weeks. It has been an incredible journey and I've been working so hard I've stayed fairly quiet about it. Now as the release feels right around the corner, I realize how much help I need getting the word out. I've never been more proud about the music or artwork that I've put out to represent me. I hope that the love and sweat that I've put into it touches you and motivates you to tell a friend about it. Share and spread the love!

On my website, I've just released the full artwork for the album, so please have a look at the incredible graphics and design that David Cook of Cook-Creative and OriginWest put together for me: http://chrisklimecky.com/thisjourneyart/

Also, I am now working hard to put together a band that will represent this vision live with me. If you know of any musician who might be interested in joining up to rock out on these tunes, please let me know. It's going to be a fun couple of months as the music starts to get out there and a band comes together to bring it alive.

For now, have a fantastic March and I'll talk to you again soon. I'd love to hear from you, too, so please feel free to ping me at anytime. Thank you so much,

Chris

SONG OF THE MONTH
It has been said that if someone listening to a song does not understand the message the songwriter is delivering, then the songwriter has failed as a communicator. I don't think that will be the case with the Song of the Month for March, "Homosexual".  (DOWNLOAD / PREVIEW)

I grew up with gay family members and gay friends. The concept was introduced to me at a young enough age that prejudices never entered the picture. Some people are queer. Big deal. Obviously though, there are people who feel differently. It's evident watching the debates on DOMA and DADT and other ridiculous topics. Republicans want us out of their bedroom but still want the ability to go into yours. For some people, queer can be "someone else's problem", but for parents, you don't get that choice. If you're having kids, open your mind, because "life is like a box of chocolates".

SHOWS

TONIGHT: The Big Queer Rock Show at TT's. We'll be premiering this song live. You want to be there.  https://www.facebook.com/events/110891305694962/

LYRICS for "Homosexual"

So did you see the writing on the wall
when your son showed a certain "flair"
And it didn't seem that strange to you that all his "girlfriends" had really short hair
Then just one ear gets pierced to showcase his pretty face
"Turn off the football dad, it's time for 'Will and Grace'"

There's one thing I think you know
Your son's a homosexual
Don't believe that he'll outgrow it
Your son's a homosexual

Somehow the tight pink shirts were not enough to give it away
What did you tell yourself when your friends called him fruitcake
"If they don't ask don't tell 'cause this world can get really mean
Ah hell, we love you son"
whatever makes you happy"

Don't know if you're homosexual
Do you think I'm homosexual
Does God loves the homosexuals?
God loves the homosexuals

NEXT MONTH

The release of the video for "Taxidermy Song", plus a song about not having sex with Guns and Roses

THE COSMONAUTS - Alternative Rock from Edinburgh

Dynamic four piece from Edinburgh infused with 60s rock, dark sounds and brooding electric cello.
The Cosmonauts were formed in 2008 by guitarist/vocalist Chris Bryce and bassist/vocalist Alan Robertson, the latest phase in a long-term collaboration of almost 10 years. With the aim of creating a more distinctive sound, cellist/vocalist Claire Schiavone was brought on board, adding a notably dark edge to the sound.
After experimenting with several dummers, Paul Stuart joined the group in 2009.

With their line-up settled, The Cosmonauts set to work fusing their sound together and bringing their individual influences and shared vision to the mix. After recording a few demos the band decided to try them out at live gigs in Edinburgh, eliciting a extremely positive response from audiences. With this new found confidence the band then pushed themselves further, securing regular gigs outside Edinburgh, plus radio play in the USA and on Scottish independent radio stations.  (as compiled on the bands website)
