Formed by Thomas Storz (bass, percussion), Justin Toland (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Andrew Denham (drums, percussion), and originally from Mississippi, the power trio Dirty Streets now calls Memphis home. That's where they recorded their new album "Blades Of Grass", at the legendary Ardent studio, under the guidance of sound engineer Adam Hill. The core trio also enlisted the talents of Lucero's Rick Steff on keys for this effort.
"Blades Of Grass" is heavy music bathed in blues, folk and psychedelia, with chops to spare and a working class point of view.

Formed in 2000 by Brian Rogers(singer), and Curtis Harvey(guitar), Absent Me is a 4 man Progressive rock band from Sacramento Ca. In 2002, the jazz sound was injected with the addition of Job(bass), only to complete the ultimate capabilities in 2004 when Don(drums) joined to write and record all new music for a full length L.P., entitled "Hate To Wake You" , released September 2006.

Hi admin@plutoradio.com, I wanted to personally invite you to the show we're playing Tuesday, July 16th at The Nectar Lounge in Fremont (just north of downtown Seattle) and update you on new music. We're hitting the stage early (8pm) so you don't have to be out late on a weekday if you don't want to. That being said, we're opening for local indie rockers Service Animal and national touring act Water District from LA, so it should be a very fun evening well after we're done if you can stick around! Tickets are $5 in advance (online or from me directly if you're nearby), $7 at the door, 21+.

Menhirs of Er Grah - Different World

British musician Thomas Carter doesn't stay in one genre for very long. His project March Rosetta has two albums out on the Clinical Archive netlabel which are quite different from each other. One is a pleasant and mildly avant-garde instrumental effort of electronic music while the other is a more mainstream pop outing.

Again, Mr. Carter shift gears with his new musical project Menhirs of Er Grah. Named after a Megalithic structure in France the music is as sparse and lonely as the stone. Different World can best be described as folk music. It is simply Carter's voice and guitar with another second guitar dubbed in later. The sound is, to put it simply, quite beautiful. Carter's voice has a not unpleasant wavering quality that communicates vulnerability. The guitar work provides a steady base for the lyrics which are complex yet intimate. I especially like the title track and "Red Roses". This is slow and meandering music, easy to relax to but full of meaning.

The band is fronted by Kristin Hersh, who writes the group's songs with collaborative efforts from the other group members in composing and arranging the music. Straight from the "Eighties Colours" era of the Sick Rose and many glorious Italian neo Garage-Psych acts, the Electric Shields were Northeast's favourites, delivering an unique mix of sixties garage-psych fuzz and Farfisa sound. Drenched classic material along with their subseguent folk-country rock phase , influenced by the late Byrds as well as the paisley underground movement of the 80s. Some 25 years later the Electric Shields retourn with a comeback album totally reminescent of the late sixties English Freakbeat era led by the Open Mind, the Attack, and of course the Wimple Winch, including the latest' classic "Save my souls" and the album's named after the Electric Shields great cover of this very last track, of course, Additionally, from the current Mod scene, brilliant organist Fay Hallam gives her contribution to three songs of the album.
