THE FEENS - Rock n' Roll!

Originating from Hamburg Pennsylvania, TheFeens started when four musicians got together after playing with individually successful projects. They have very diverse backgrounds which contribute greatly to their purist rock and roll sound.

Think of 1972, Quentin Tarantino and muscle cars encompassed with the musical backdrop of these guys. The riffs they create growl, steaming with an undercurren
t of bottom end ferocity. TheFeens take rock and roll to contemporary levels, yet still stay true to the classics. The band is in it's infancy, only 8 months old, yet has recieved gig spots with some of the countries hot acts.
Currently, they are packing local venues and creating a buzz on the internet. Due to their viral marketing campaigns and social media networking, they have attracted, in only six months, a whopping 12,000+ friends on Myspace. They have reached number One on Reverbnation local charts and recently have opened for KISS at Hershey Stadium. (as compiled on the bands website)

THE SATURDAY GIANT - Ambient / Indie / Pop

It's been a busy year for The Saturday Giant, aka Columbus, Ohio resident Philip Cogley.   He wrote, recorded and mixed his debut, You've Heard of Dragons; polished up solo arrangements of the songs; played a bunch of shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and a litany of stops in between; released a benefit double single called Freedom of Choice; performed at a TEDx conference in Columbus and this year's SXSW Festival in Austin; and began writing and recording a follow-up EP.
Though he embraces a do-it-yourself ethos, Cogley's solo performances are surprisingly complete: he performs as a one-man band, employing looping technology to build lush arrangements comprised of beatboxing, guitar soundscapes, keyboards and vocals. Though this approach tends to captivate audiences, it's Cogley's instinct towards restraint that makes a Saturday Giant show truly memorable--songs are constructed and disassembled with economy, without resort to virtuosic displays that lead many looping artists into more tedious territory (as compiled on the bands website)

THE LOYD - Rock - Portugal Style!

"Love and Revolution" is the first album of the Portuguese band the LOYD, after the EP "Done" released in 2007, and it is available since May of 2010.   Presented live on the 6 of March, the expected return of the band to the stages was marked by appearances by Michael Bello (Lullabye) and Nuno Melo (Mundo Secreto) and also by the first public screening of the music video "Alone (Where I'm Going)".

There are 13 songs that can be found in "Love and Revolution", with a clear emphasis on a new and energetic version of the Beatles song "Help!", which promises to leave no one indifferent and has the support of the Best Rock besides the already scheduled airplay on Rádio Comercial. (as compiled on the bands website)

CLOUD MAP - Progressive / Alternative / Experimental Rock

CLOUDMAP is the result of a reflection about tempo in music and the most hidden forms in Rock.  The idea of creating, improving and self-growing throughout original melodies, different rhythms and odd time signatures, motivates Cloudmap. This band is not rhythmically straightforward and enjoys mixing electric and acoustic guitars, synthesizers, everything steered by a powerful drumming.

The project was born in 1998 as a learning project among musicians. It took a long time to improve an extensive repertory. During a decade, a small room has been a mute witness of the band hard work reaching some light today. More recently, in 2008, the band finally found the new members who would complete the formation and started putting together the “on stage” performances.   The lyrics talk about many different concepts based on feelings including death, treachery, pride, love or happiness. Although their music might seem abstract at the beginning it follows very logical patterns. The band looks for perfection through the mind and lives music as something magical and respectful. They prefer music to be the main character of their creations on top of any physical appearance. (as compiled ont he bands website)

BLACKMAIL - Classic Detroit Rock / Funk

BLACKMAIL serving up a Lethal Dose of Funk-Infested bluesy/hard rock from the motor city!!!.  The band formed in 2006 after a few informal basement jams on some Hendrix,U2 and Alice in Chains. Working up a set of original material the band set upon gigging hard and developing a local following. At the bands frequent Detroit area club appearances Ghettorock jams like Clown of life, 2lonely and Justify have crowds headbanging, dancing and moshin often within the same song. Blackmail is anchored by the "THUNDERING" Bass of Akmed ELshabazz and the "Hard Funk-Filled" drumming of Doug Austin. It lays a heavy groove for guitarist Mike Brooks to provide some Atomic Blues riffs. The Blackmail Groove is topped off with the Soulful and Charismatic Vocals of Frontman Kalonji Maayassa. The bands 1st CD has already had airplay on both of Detroit's top Rock Stations. The future is looking Bright for Blackmail and thier brand of Ghettorock. (as compiled on the bands website)

KENELIS - Alternative / Punk / Rock

The last decent female fronted pure rock and roll, alternative band that had substance to them were The Pretty Reckless. Ever since my sk8r days back when I was a wee teenager, where my daily uniform was some form of baggy hoody, jeans and some Vans, I had a collection of female fronted guitar rockers pumping in through my headphones, from The Donnas to Hole, with a bit of Tuuli too for good measure. I've not come across anyone for a long while who could contend with such raw passion, dripping with guitar riffs and an infectious personality to complete the package. Until now.  (as compiled on the bands website)

Let me introduce you to Mel Sanson of Kenelis.

TWIZZLE - Indie / Lounge / Pop

Tear off the white ribbons and candy pink velvet and steal a taste of ice-blue frosting kissed with powdered sugar. Pop a bonbon between your lips and savor the daring combination of exotic-tinted flavors. A blueberry tart with peppermint cream. A warming dram of bittersweet cocoa or perhaps a glass of lemondrop treacle.  (as compiled on the bands website)

BEEN OBSCENE - Stoner Rock!

4 young musicians from Salzburg, 2 guitars, bass, drums & vocals – spiced with an ordinary dash of creativity. With this artistic mix Been Obscene creates, inspired from the sounds of the 70s, as well as Stoner and Alternative Rock, an extreme varied atmosphere.

Been Obscene, consisting of Thomas Nachtigal [Vocals, Guitar], Peter Kreyci [Guitar], Philipp Zezula [Bass] and Robert Schoosleitner [Drums], was already onstage with scene heroes like Motorpsycho, Fu Manchu, Brant Bjork, Colour Haze, Los Natas, Rotor and My Sleeping Karma and convinced the audience in particular with a warm, transparent sound wall, that is one of a kind. CHASING DISASTER - Rock / World / Indie

Exploding out of Albuquerque, NM comes Chasing Disaster. The band tears up an extremely unique, retro-contemporary rock sound that is fronted by Cody Bond, who belts smooth and melodic, yet hyper-powerful, vocals (somewhere between Robert Plant and Jeff Buckley). Always by his side, Cody is complemented by the fluidly multi-talented song-writer, guitarist, vocalist and pianist, Yigal Cohen. Fueled by pure style and intensity, Michael Gatten delivers the beat with pounding, straight-up rock ‘n’ roll flavor. Bassist Jon McMillan holds the groove together with an amazing musical foundation based in the complexities of jazz and high energy rock. (as compiled on the bands website)

THEE STAG KNIGHTS - Sassy and Sexy Beats!

Thee Stag Knights first came together in early 2000 as a three piece featuring Ben Butler on guitar, Adele Daniele on drums and vocals and Iain McIntyre on bass and shouting. Informed by a love of raw 60s rock n roll and trashy exotica. Playing numerous shambolic shows at the fabulous Town Hall and other illustrious venues around Melbourne the band recorded their debut album with Steve Hickmott in September 2000.
Thee Stag Knights fully reloaded in 2005 with the addition of Laila Marie Costa Ramone on guitar, vocals and keyboards. Playing a bunch of shows, mainly at The Tote, the band recorded "Santa's Been A Naughty Boy" for the 2005 Rock Against Bullshit Christmas compilation... In 2006 the band have honed their twin guitar assault adding a number of new songs, playing The Tote and recently laying down a bunch of tracks with Laura MacFarlane at Backyard Charlies. CLOUDMAP - Alternative / Progressive / Rock

Cloudmap is more than just a band. It is a School of progressive Rock itself. It is also a beautiful story that survives troughout the years and a project of truth. It is the result of a reflection about tempo in music and the most hidden forms in Rock...

Cloudmap is the dream of every musician, a tiny house of creativity in the middle of no where, a factory of ideas and the perfect place to meet the music spirit. Cloudmap enjoys mixing electric and acoustic guitars, synthesizers, home made instruments and crazy vocals...The project was born in 1998 as a learning project among musicians. It took a long time to improve an extensive repertory and during a decade, a small room has been a mute witness of the band hard work that is reaching some light today. More recently, in 2008, the band finally found the new members who would complete the formation and started putting together the "on stage" performances, even though Cloudmap is not interested on touring regularly but on touring with a minimum of quality. (as compiled on the bands website)
