PLUTO RADIO - Commercial Free Radio...!

Often times the bands/artists we play provide us with tags to include along with their music.  I was recently asked if mentioning promotional URLs for bands within those tags was okay for inclusion..  This particular band promoter was concerned that it might go against our "commercial free" status.  The following was my response.

"Yes, you can mention your website...  It's not a commercial to add URLs to these tags, the station is set up to promote the bands we play so these tags work well because they give our audience a quick reference and a means to locate band info.  (We always post the bands websites on page #3 of our website)  And, you don't have to worry about being subtle.  We mention URLs all the time on the stream...  Most importantly, we don't accept payment for mentioning anything on our radio stream.

"Hey Thomas.  I am always glad to be any part of inspiration.  You're a talented cat and I sincerely hope you and John Ludi can put something together.., especially if it's headed for airplay on Pluto Radio.  That's going to be our strength in the years to come, we've just got to be more responsive to creativity in what we do rather than hustling over concerns of "hits" and "big numbers on myspace or facebook" bullshit... we can let the rest of the world take on being the most popular, however, we can take on being the most creative group of ******** on the freakin' planet.  Which should eventually mean something....  (anyway, I apologize for the rant, you get it, and, thanks for that).  Ludi's a great guy, he's worked his whole life as a new age troubadour and you guys will create very interesting collective vibe, no doubt.  I'm very excited about the possibility of a collaboration between the two of you.  And, of course you are right, it is totally about that old school thinking  -  freeing it up and seeing what comes of it.

as to Stalker Kimmy...  Let her have it about the "Tommy" thing.  Maybe we can arrange a conference call and you can let her have it then (be careful, she might give it right back)?  Yes, you can call into the call box with that complaint as well..., or set her straight in a separate rant while recording the next show.  I'll be adding in more Lee rants after the first of the year, so all that stuff is okay.

above all... Honestly brother, thanks for getting it.  So many people are just the walking dead now-a-days.  Especially within our contemporary art community.   (Welcome to the age of dysfunction, cynicism and disillusionment!)  Personally, I refuse to do the zombie walk, I'd like to think there is some value to what we do... even if it is all controlled by David Icke and the Illuminati marching band."
