After 13 years and over a dozen versions of the band Angus, Matt was ready for something new and he found it with the Matt Angus Thing. 6 years ago Matt recorded his first solo effort "Matt Angus" and since then he has been busy archiving new songs and pulling some old ones out of the archives. The Matt Angus Thing has hundreds of hours of live recordings and dozens of new songs recorded, but not completed. With the release of the soundtrack of “Demand Your Independents”, The Matt Angus Thing will be able to release some of those live tunes and a few of the studio ones.
After a 5 years hiatus from full-time touring, including a stint as the owner of the Stanhope House and staying home with his children Maeve and Theodore, it is time to hear some of these tunes that he has been hoarding. (as compiled on the bands website)
