TAOST - Punkadelic Rock with a Twist !

TAOST is a 4-piece unit from Eastern Long Island that skillfully weaves jam-band spontaneity with a punk sensibility -- charting a new course for “Punkadelic Rock”. The band creates a sound that is equal parts CBGB's punk and Haight-Ashbury psychedelia.

Lead guitarist Fred Bell cut his teeth in the raucous '70s NYC punk scene at such legendary venues as CBGB's and Max's Kansas City. His bold style captures the essence of the psychedelic '60s and rockets with the intensity of '70s punk abandon. A passion for rock and roll runs in the family -- Fred’s brother Marky Ramone earned a slot in the Rock & Roll hall of fame behind the drums with The Ramones. Darren Mignone brings a taste of Americana and a classic Jam Band sensibility to his diverse guitar textures. Whether it’s on electric, acoustic, or slide guitar, Darren weaves his way tastefully between Fred's soaring lead play and the band’s solid rhythm section -- made up of Bassist Dwayne Carlson and drummer Kyle Mealy. Dwayne takes a song-oriented approach to the bass – adding a quirky and adventurous underside to the band’s foundation. Kyle brings reggae/funk and progressive rock chops to the table. His relentless grooves and unique playing style are featured on the many instrumental interludes heard as part of TAOST's brand of ”Punkadelic Rock”.

2011 is a launching point for TAOST. The debut 3P, 'I Know You've Been Talking About Me' was released in January with additional 3Ps to be released every 10-12 weeks. The new digital musical landscape allows a band like TAOST to keep fans satisfied with plenty of fresh new music. It’s an ability TAOST will use to the fullest in 2011 – along with regular performances throughout the Northeastern United States and Beyond.
