Drop Electric

Drop Electric is an unsigned experimental rock band based in Washington D.C. and NYC. Based in melody and distortion, their live show is a combination of evocative music, unique vocals and narrative film.

In the summer of 2012, they released their 4-track album "Drop Electric Sampler Platter." The album was featured by the likes of Washingtonian Magazine, Washington City Paper, BYT, WHFS.com, WTOP.com, Headstash Magazine, and WGTB Radio.

In July 2012, they joined Pusher Music, a specialized crew of artists creating music for trailers based in LA. They joined a roster of artists that includes DJ Shadow and Orbital. In August 2012, their track "Empire Trashed" was featured on NPR's "All Songs Considered" and their live show was given a rave review by Bob Boilen.

In December 2010, they released their debut album, “Finding Color in the Ashes” at the Black Cat Mainstage in Washington, D.C. Their work has been reviewed and or featured in The Washington Post, Mixtape Muse, Musigh, and “All Songs Considered” on NPR.

“Beautiful video, very beautiful timelapse stuff and so I stayed… and they knocked me out. I’d seen Sigur Ros earlier in the week, we’d webcast that show, Sigur Ros is on my mind. Epic sounding instrumental band, with beautiful, beautiful vocals and here was Drop Electric, doing something sorta similar. “
