Luke Ory :
"
Historic rock venue Hangar 13 caught fire on may 11th 2014, and burned
to the ground. It happened mere hours after hosting one of its biggest
concerts to date. We were the last group to perform on Hangar
13's legendary stage, and being the venues most frequent
performing Metal band, we are devastated.
The New Orleans’ premier concert venue is an
old one. “Hangar 13″ (Previously “The Hangar” and “Rendon Music Hall”)
has had a colored history of being one of New Orleans’ renowned concert
venues, having hosted many huge national acts (Including Marilyn Manson,
Nirvana, Down, NIN, etc.). And now its gone.
The Rock scene
in New Orleans has been struggling lately. And now, with Hangar 13
destroyed, it suffers even more. It was one of the ONLY places left in
the Big Easy for ANY Rock band to play. Local and National. Except
that the National bands get to move on to the next city and rock out,
while we wait, and hope, that Hangar 13 rises from the grave." - Luke
Ory, guitars, vocals, song writer, front man of Headspill.
